West Florida
Cons... D2, just because of the transition period.
Pros... the panhandle is a very important region for recruiting.
UWF became a great rival of ours, not historical but it was well on its way.
Fills a void for FCS football.
Strong add all the way around for both ASUN and UAC.

Valdosta State
Cons... same as West Florida
Pros... adds a great tradition of sports. No doubt in my mind they can build to be a constant competitor in the ASUN and FCS football.
In my opinion, the pair of VSU and UWF are key to stability and power in the future of the ASUN.
I actually think if the two come, UNA will nor be looking for another home if they every really was.

Tennessee Tech
Con... our colors, again... some think they don't have funding, I don't know, they seem to be at or above par for the rest of the conference.
Pros... beautiful natural area of Tennessee. Great baseball, great basketball arena. (Could be a future host for basketball tournament because of location) room for football program to grow.
I think a combo of TTU (or SEMO) and either VSU or UWF would probably be the best situation and then pick up the other two.

SEMO
Cons... admittedly I don't know very much about SEMO, they would be the extreme west of the ASUN but right in the middle of the UAC.
Pros... seem to have good facilities. Are basically building a new football stadium. As mentioned, right in the middle of the UAC footprint.

SEMO was in the playoffs last year losing by 10 at Montana. Also 2019 losing to Illinois St.

Alabama State...
No rumors, just me making a case for them...
Pros, it would be nice to have a in state rival in the conference since JSU is leaving. They have the best stadium in FCS and in my opinion, there is no comparison. They have a nice basketball arena. But baseball could use a few mil.
Cons, they are usually not very strong in many sports. Maybe a change of conference could change that. HBCUs get a bad reputation on the financial side, usually it's because administration gets caught stealing funds in one way or another, but you almost never hear anything out of ASU.
I think it would be worth it for the ASUN to take a look and see if any interest may be there.

McNeese State
Pros Have a very good program and could fit in the WAC or ASUN. Great fan base. Good tradition.
Cons Want FBS and will be gone at first opportunity.

FIU
Pros- Florida, I think they was part of the original ASUN.
CONS- NON
FIU has been left behind with no immediate suitors. They could be the Southeasts Idaho and drop to FCS and have a niche. With other sports in the ASUN it provides a good market and travel/rivals for the other Florida schools. They are currently the outliers but in the ASUN they would be more in the mix. If the UAC is trying to go FBS, then, well, there you go.
