I was excited to find out from reading stuff over on the CSN board that the UAC is a "disaster". Huh. Who knew? The butthurt over there about the UAC continues to fascinate me. We're no different than the 4 other (if you count the Big South/OVC deal) football-only conferences in FCS, and no worse travel than the MVFC or CAA. Let's not even start with the Pioneer League.

EKU flies to Texas and Utah. Buses to UCA. THE bus trip to UCA is only 100 miles more than if we were still in the OVC and played at W Illinois in Macomb, IL which we are going to do OOC in the next year or two.

Scheduling question? Say ASUN pulls up three D2 teams. UNA could only play 1 of those during the season right? If we play three ineligible teams we wouldn’t qualify for the playoffs correct? We have to have so many D1 games to be eligible? I believe West Georgia is coming, not sure we are interested in more than that at the moment?

There would be enough teams to schedule around that issue...

I wonder if all 3 moved up at a similar time, could they play each other? Obviously we played some transitioning teams in other sports and it was fine, but could UWG play both Valdosta and UWF in football, for example? Obviously they would all ineligible for the playoffs, but was there a rule about how many transitioning teams you can play in a season?
I'm sure it's something the conference could work out, I'm just curious.
If the AAC plugs in Army or decides to stay at 13, I wonder if realignment is finished for a while? Unless Washington State and Oregon State decide to create a new conference from both the Mountain West and the AAC (I expect them just to merge with the MWC eventually), the only possible openings will be if CUSA decides to add numbers. I think they would add Stephen F. Austin if there was an eastern team to go along with them. But Western Kentucky doesn't want Eastern Kentucky, and honestly I don't think anybody else on the ASUN side is ready *at this moment* to make the jump.
If you think about it though, the UAC is basically the feeder league for CUSA at this point. I don't want to say "minor league", but unless CUSA gets lucky and starts to have interest from schools like Missouri State or the Dakotas, there's a really good chance the next teams they add will be UAC teams.
Despite what keyboard geniuses might say, I like what we have in the UAC and hope the league manages to not lose any more than another school or 2.

The WAC has two ineligible teams right now (Tarleton and Utah Tech) and it doesn’t seem to be an issue.

ASUN just welcomed UWG Wolves to the fold! I reckon the GA.BOR approved. OK Valdosta and UWF, time's a wasteing.

The WAC has two ineligible teams right now (Tarleton and Utah Tech) and it doesn’t seem to be an issue. I looked this up and posted in a thread about FCS playoffs. So basically as long as we play a minimum of 6 D1 eligible teams we are ok. We couldn’t play a 10 game schedule with 5 ineligible teams and 5 eligible and qualify. Or that’s the way I read it? UNALions do you interpret it that way? Or?? Post in playoffs thread.
