It’s no different than any other business. If someone has been in a high ranking position for a long time (president, Director, head coach) and everyone knows they would have no chance of landing that same position at a similar company (or University), you obviously have the wrong person in that role. But, it seems UNA is content with him, I guess because he’s probably cheap. But, baseball coaches as a whole make very little. A young, dynamic assistant would likely jump at the chance to be a D1 head coach, and would cost you nothing additional. Unless you have to buy Keehn out of his contract to make the move. Not sure what his contract status actually is? UNA is waiting on one person in particular...

UNA is waiting on one person in particular... Who would that be? They want Josh Willingham, if he wants to or not may be another story.

He’d be a homerun hire, especially if you pair him with a couple young energetic assistants/recruiters. He’d instantly elevate the perception of the program, as someone who is universally respected. Could help with attendance as well.

Sigh. North Alabama took a 5-0 lead early but couldn't hold it as the Lions eventually fell 19-7 on the road at Tennessee Tech.
UNA, now 6-13 overall, held the lead until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Golden Eagles scored eight runs off three UNA pitchers.
The Lions left 11 runners on the base against Tennessee Tech as TTU improved to 14-5. roarlions.com/news/2022/3/22/baseball-lions-fall-at-tennessee-tech.aspx

Obviously a coaching change is needed at this point, but... it also seems we are still playing with D2-level players. Which is the coaching staff's job to prevent, of course.
I don't mean that to be disrespectful to the players. I'm sure they are giving 100%. It's not their fault for accepting a chance to play D1 baseball. I just feel bad for them, getting embarrassed so frequently.

2/3 of the roster is freshman/sophmore with the majority being freshman. Seems like a poor job of roster construction through the transition to be this young in year 4. Freshman are always going to struggle to compete anywhere, it’s crazy to have such an imbalance and expect to be successful.

Gamecocks already on the board in the bottom of the 1st.
I didn't realize this is all-turf field! A turf mound? I may be living under a rock but that ain't baseball. lol.

JSU up 9-2. Sigh. Lions had the bases loaded after getting 2 runs but couldn't capitalize further. Then the Gamecocks got a run and a 3-run homer.

Lions made a late 9th inning push to cut it to 11-8, but couldn’t overcome the early runs. Hopefully even the series tomorrow.

Sigh. Lions led the entire game and lost 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th. Disappointing way to lose it. Some pretty bad errors and a stagnant offense all game.
