Has anyone been by Braly to look at the new turf? We have been fighting stomach bugs lately and been busy with baseball, so I haven't gotten the chance to look. While I was at one of my sons baseball games the other night, overheard a couple of people talking about the new turf may have interchangeable logo sections. The middle of the field will have a spot for team logos and the 25-30ish yard line will have a spot to pull up the plain and put in a conference logo. Anyway, don't know the people, I was basically listening in on another's conversation so, idk. I'm guessing this is true. I imagine that the conference will require members to have the UAC logo on the field. Obviously the midfield logo would be optional, but if they can swap out sections for the conference logo, probably makes sense to do it for midfield too. Maybe the Falcons will have a logo ready to go as well?

So, I stopped by Braly today and looked at the new turf, it doesn't look like it has cutouts like was said. But, it may be seamless?
And yes, the stupid asphalt is still around the field.

10000 capacity, be home to football, baseball and soccer. Able to expand when needed.

Building it in the right location. Students more likely to attend games. My only question is tailgating? What will that look like in two/maybe three years?

Yet, parking has been an issue at Braly for decades. Also, very curious where the band will have to go. Maybe the intramural field on frat row. They’ll love that at 8 am on Saturdays. Lol.

Are their any other schools that field their football, baseball, and soccer programs in the same venue?

While I may not like the idea of three sports in 1 stadium, I am ecstatic that the University has finally made a decision (so we think, as they made an announcement to build stadium a few years ago). I can't wait to see the rendering! That location is plenty big to build a stadium and possibly a facility to practice in. Therefore, the band could practice in the stadium while football is practicing on their practice field. Also, I'm sure Florence would let UNA band practice at Braly for a fee. I do have concerns of where the baseball will practice in the Fall, but perhaps there is plans to use the baseball field next to softball. You could easily spend very little amount of money to make that into a practice baseball facility.
I'm seeing so many comments about the band, and what they will do and practice. First, I will say I was in the band. The band should not have that much of a factor in building a stadium there. They can find a field to practice. Perhaps, they could use the lawn in beside Rogers and build a field there to practice. It would be right next to the band room.
As for parking and tailgating, I actually think parking will be better on campus vs Braly. Braly only has 2 lots. UNA has a parking deck and several lots around campus that are easily walkable to that stadium. I'm sure they will build another parking deck below the football weight room. Also, new parking deck in downtown Florence that could shuttle on game days. Tailgating could happen below the stadium and they build stairs to walk up to the stadium. There is perfect lot underneath the new science building for tailgating and events on circular rd.

Correct I think I mentioned on this thread (without going back to look) they could have a stadium that actually moves... This is my thought, have the horseshoe stadium you want, the endzone with the seats will be home plate for baseball. The sideline stands will swing out to make 1st and 3rd base stands. The video board would have to be off set for the batter. A temporary wall gets brought in for baseball. Don't put permanent markings on the field so it will look right between sports. They make a water soluble artificial turf paint they can use. You just use water, and a soap solution and it breaks it down. Cut outs can be used for around the bases and pitchers mound. If they do it right, it will be great... But, I'm sure we will find a way to screw it up.

una.edu/BIStadium. Public renderings for Bank Independent Stadium will be released after the design is approved by the Board of Trustees.
