I live in Chattanooga, so keep up with what's going on here at UTC. Saw this morning that the Mocs are adding a beach volleyball team for the 2020-2021 season. They said they will announce conference affiliation at a future date, as the SoCon does not yet sponsor beach volleyball. Seems like an ASUN affiliation would be the logical choice? Their other choices would be to join the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association, which has schools mostly in Florida, or go independent.
The new beach complex will apparently be adjacent to Engel Stadium, built in 1930 and home to the baseball Lookouts for about 70 years. I believe UTC plans to have that, intramural fields, and possibly other activities there (they don't have a baseball team).
Can't help but think both us and UTC passed up a great opportunity to put these beach complexes on the Tennessee River. Obviously you have to have the land to do so, but man. Wish it could've been done.

Seems they could've worked together, but I'm sure it was much easier to acquire land from the City.

Speaking of TVA, and I know, wrong thread, but can we make a TVA Credit Union sponsored Trail of Tears Bowl for the UNA Chattanooga games............

Speaking of TVA, and I know, wrong thread, but can we make a TVA Credit Union sponsored Trail of Tears Bowl for the UNA Chattanooga games............ I'd love to make it a "trophy game" of some sort. I feel like the Mocs need something to get their fans engaged. They went through a period 5 or 6 years ago where they attracted almost 10k to their games, but attendance has fallen off again. They just have a long history of being mediocre. They've had a bit of a rivalry going with JSU these past few years. My dream would be to have them both on the schedule every year. Maybe even have a three-way competition and award a trophy to the best team, sort of like the Commander-in-Chief Trophy for Army/Navy/Air Force. It's like these athletic departments don't know how to have fun any more, unless they can squeeze a buck out of it
