This is just for conversation, but is it possible that Ashley Cozart is the best of the UNA coaches (and there are some good ones)?

At the moment, sure. She’s easily the most accomplished of all the ones we have. I don’t have a problem putting her at the top. If I were to rank them, I’d go like this: - Cozart
- Pujol
- Tiber
- Willis
- Keehn
I honestly don’t follow the other sports well enough to accurately gauge them, though I know in volleyball Bob White is in his first year of it and beach volleyball. It’s probably not fair to judge him yet. Same may go for Pujol, but it’s my list, so the rules are flexible haha.

You could definitely be right. But, don't shout it out too loudly. ha
Congrats to the Lions on their 2-1 win over Memphis today!

I'd put UNA Soccer Coach Walker up there in the top 2.

I'd put UNA Soccer Coach Walker up there in the top 2. That’s fair. I was excited to see them reach the finals of the conference tournament. I just have zero knowledge of soccer itself and didn’t feel right comparing him to the others.

With at least 3 years of Coaching at North Alabama, She is the best that Linder has hired since he has been the AD. Of the major sports that a coach was here or still here that they includes Bowen, Walker, Tiber, Keene.

I just have zero knowledge of soccer itself and didn’t feel right comparing him to the others. I didnt either until this past season. I went to the first game, match, or whatever, I really enjoyed watching it, and I can say it without cringing now. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but its interesting enough if you have someone to follow, in our case it's our soccer Lions.

Right now I cant put Tiber on the List. If you asked about recruiting, maybe, coaching, no. Remember she couldn't smell her own farts until she got the triplets.

I'm not going to do a list. I talk to most of them on occasion and although I try to be as objective as possible, I also like them all equally. They are all(at least the ones that I have had the pleasure of being able to talk to) very good people. I love coach Tiber to death, and I have been one of her biggest critics.
As much as we criticize them at times, and want certain coaches gone at times, Linder has done a good job finding people who want to be at UNA and put the University first. None of us see what goes on behind the scenes, especially during this endeavor of transitioning to D1, that's very important.

Ha, hard to disagree with the last part, but recruiting is obviously important. Maybe you can argue that the triplets fell into her lap. But, we have some other good players on the team. Now, after next year when this big senior class leaves, how will she do? That’ll be the big question. Can she keep bringing in D1 talent? I’d hate to see this run end with us sliding back to where we were in women’s ball a few years ago. As as for your soccer comments, I understand where you’re coming from. My wife is a hockey fan. I feel like the two sports have some similarities. I’ve tried to get into hockey but it’s been a struggle. I think soccer would be the same for me. Maybe that will change. My daughter plays, though she’s only 3 so it’s not even divided up into teams. Maybe if she sticks with it and I start going to games, I’ll start to take more of an interest.

I put Willis above Tiber for his recruiting prowess. Easily tougher to recruit top talent to D1 football program that is unable to play for anything post season, yet we are holding our own. We won 1st game at Southern Utah to get whole D1 transition heading in the right direction. We were competitive at North Dakota State and we are quite a few years behind Bison on the whole process. Plus the hire of Aplin back as OC was great. Excited for year two, we pull off the win at JSU he moves to 1b on the list. I have Tiber at 3, she can’t close the season or perform in postseason. I hope that changes sooner than later. Pujol is climbing the ladder, he needs a couple of pieces and to build off momentum from this young team. I like the soccer coach, I actually watched some soccer matches. He gets a lot out of the team. I think these are easily our the top coaches. Baseball coach is underwhelming so far, he needs to find a big win somewhere.
I put Cozart easily as the best coach at UNA right now. Until someone else does something as spectacular as winning each year and winning a natty. Cozart has to stay, what a foundation she has laid for the softball program.

I believe that Tiber can recruit, but no way can she coach. I wouldn’t be upset if she was let go today.
I think the returning players deserve a better coach than Tiber is. Some of her decisions during the final two minutes. This season the game when we had a 8 point lead with 14 seconds. To me her reasoning suggested that she Didn’t believe our players could make a foul shot. The Xavier game, the home game against Liberty. The 2016-2017 season GSC tournament against West Georgia where there was a call made against us during the final minute and she got a technical. On the radio that night she said she that she just wanted to make a point. We would probably have lost anyway. But that technical didn’t help us.
During her first three years, she probably got more technicals than the previous three coaches in a 14 year span.
Apparently her record before she came her of 19 - 86 at Southern Illinois has been wipe off the books.
On fast breaks most coaches would suggest the rebounder make an outlet pass. Apparently her fast break is for the rebounder is to try and out run the other nine players on the court. Several turnovers this was a result of trying to dribble the ball too fast.
As of right now the only signee that I know of is a 5’8 guard from Murfreesboro Tennessee.

I was looking back the other night at that string of LCHS titles. It was from the time the triplets were in 8th grade until they graduated. Ivy made the State Tournament second team as an 8th grader. They haven't won another since they came to UNA. I sure hope they can put together a run next year. They have not had that strong finish for the Lions that they did each of those high school seasons. Maybe their senior year will be the one. It would be nice to get a graduate transfer true "big" down low.
