If we can't hit outside shots we won't be competitive the rest of the season. Emma had 7 threes the first game with Stetson. They are struggling today.

Pulled the Wallen girls out...must be tired of the turnovers. 20 struggles bless her heart. Bet we press with a minute left...we like to wait about 2 minutes too late to press? Oh well.

Girls turned the ball over dribbling down the court with nobody in front of them? How does your brain stop working during the game? Two sisters went 8-30 on FG. Shoot less than 30% from the floor and you cannot expect to win anywhere...especially not on the road. Panetti and Eubanks went 14-21. Making over 67% of their FGs...Seems like the gameplan in the 4th quarter would have been easy? Coulson only attempted 5 FGs? Made 3 of those...Stults and Nunley made none on 6FGs. 4-21 behind the arc....less than 20%?? Should almost accidentally shoot 30%.
On the men’s side...is it against our teams rules to guard the 3 point shot? Seems like we are getting hammered by teams shooting uncontested 3 pointers? Maybe these others teams have bad breath or body odor?

Girls shot 71% from free throw line...not bad...problem here is we only shot 7 the entire game. Stetson shot 23, I know we had to put them there at the end, but that was only like 6. They also shot around 70%. Made 11 more free throws than us...really could have helped change that game flow.
Men’s game we actually got to the line 18 times converting on 72%. Good enough to win. Shooting under 30% from three when all you shoot are threes will get you beat even by teams like Stetson. 9-33. Of course I watched 3 bigs get great looks at layups downlow and each of them missed...6 easy points. Post is killing the men, 2-9 from post players. 7 total points from bigs? Blackmon has lost his confidence completely and shot a paltry 10%, plays good defense, 5steals today and with heart, just hit the freshman wall and can’t get past it. Hopefully Agnew will be back for Jacksonville, although King had 21 to lead all Lions scorers today.

On the women, it’s easy to want to point fingers, whether it’s at the coaching staff or whoever else. I tend to think that we may have benefitted earlier in the season from teams not having a lot of tape on us. Now that some of these are playing us for the second time, they’re making adjustments. And too, it’s simply hard to beat a decent team twice - especially with situations like a ridiculous free throw advantage, as 96 pointed out above. Hard to overcome all those factors.
There’s obviously still time to right the ship, but it seems now we can do no better than a third-place finish. Which certainly isn’t bad, but disappointing considering where we were three games ago. Maybe we can catch fire in the conference tournament.
As for the men, we close now with two home games, but beating Lipscomb would be a tall task. Winning Tuesday against Jacksonville would be really nice, especially since we beat them a few weeks ago at their place.
