I think Lipscomb is becoming a rivalry, from what I could tell, we had several UNA fans at the Liberty basketball game's, soccer had a few as well. But what I saw the other day proved it. While in Nashville for one of my, "I'm bored, I think I'll take a drive up the trace" days, I ran into a guy, maybe 20 years old, he stopped me in a gas station and said, "UNA huh?" Pointing at my hat, "I'm glad yall are with us, there is a little more excitement on campus since yall are so close. Yall are already considered one of our rivals." So I said good, ROAR LIONS.... and walked away. That’s awesome. I’ve wondered how much of a fan base they have in the Nashville area. I’m sure not having football hurts them with casual, non-alum sports fans. Hopefully the students can become interested in these games, too. Not to one-up your story, but I actually had a guy at a store here in Chattanooga point out my UNA hat last week and say he’s originally from the Shoals. He said it was the first time he’d seen someone wearing UNA stuff around here. I admit I haven’t seen a lot, but have a time or two. I know several UNA alums personally that live here, since my old employer made a habit to hire folks from our program. Maybe I should organize a local alumni chapter, ha. There may not be a ton of UNA alumni in Chatty, but there is a ton of people from the Shoals area and North Alabama in general. It would be cool if you could start an alumni chapter in Chattanooga, may be more there than we think. Surely there are people from Chatty that attended UNA and moved back home, or at least the general Chattanooga area.

I'm submitting an idea for the UNA-Chatty game name. I think it may stick, after talking with people (originally) involved in the Trail of Tears motorcycle ride.
The Trail of Tears Memorial Game.
They said if they name it that, they can provide a Trophy for the game.

You'd certainly want members of the Cherokee nation there, and heck, I think you'd probably want to get their blessing before even settling on that name. I was down by Finley Stadium in downtown Chattanooga this past weekend, and was telling my wife how I can't wait for that game in 2020. It will be interesting to see how the Mocs do this season with a new coach. I'm not sure we are very far apart in terms of talent at the moment. Though I don't make it to a ton of Moc games, just keep up with results.

That would be a great idea for the North Alabama/UT Chattanooga game. I hope it happens. I too am looking forward to that series.

Is it just me, or does it seem like a spark of a rivalry may happen between us and North Florida? Seems pretty intense everytime they play in any sport.
