An even more fun fact. When SEL came to town in the '70s, the students would serenade them with this little ditty: Our Lions are good Lions, your Lions are bad, Our Lions are happpy, your Lions are sad, Our Lions drink whiskey, your Lions drink beer, Our Lions like women, your Lions ARE ... well...
Whew. That would get some folks' heads spinning, if they sang it nowadays haha.

Hey wait... if our lions like women, isn’t there some crazy cross-species action going on? Lol Well if the lions drink whiskey, it has to be because of the women.

Thought it would be cool to see how these folks did in 2018.
08/29 WESTERN ILLINOIS HOME (5-5; Lost their final game to Indiana State - everyone thought the winner of that game would make the playoffs. They didn't) 09/07 at Montana (6-5; Lost to Western Ill in a close game early in the season and beat Southern Utah by 43 down the stretch) 09/14 ALABAMA A&M HOME (6-5; Also beat Jackson State) 09/21 at Jacksonville State (9-4; 1-1 in FCS Playoffs, lost to KSU in 5 OT in last regular season game) 09/28 JACKSON STATE HOME (5-5; fired coach after losing to us and Southern in back-to-back weeks) 10/05 * at Hampton (7-3; Played hodge-podge Indy schedule with 5 D2/D3/NAIA wins; Beat Presbyterian by 1 and lost to Charleston Southern) 10/19 * CHARLESTON SOUTHERN HOME (5-6; Coach just resigned) 10/26 * at Kennesaw State (11-1; Playing in FCS playoffs right now; Big South Champion and reg. season loss was to FBS GA State) 11/02* CAMPBELL HOME (6-5; One D2 win and KSU beat them 49-0) 11/09 * at Monmouth (8-3; snubbed for playoffs) 11/16 * at Gardner-Webb (3-8; lost to KSU by about 40) 11/23 * PRESBYTERIAN HOME (2-8; lost to KSU 56-0)

I think we beat Western Illinois at home. A long trip to Montana ends with a close loss We dont lose to A&M Go into overtime with a less than par JSU, toss up on winner. Jackson State will not be much of a game. Neither will Hampton Charlston Southern = win KSU will be different next year, they win, but closer than people think. Campbell will get manhandled at Braly. We go to Monmouth and get a significant win. We win a close game with G.W. but they end up 2nd in the Big South. We shut out Presbyterian on senior day. 9-3 or 10-2, depends on the JSU game. And I'm being honest.

I'm just judging by what the other programs have coming back, how they played this year and coach changes. It sets up in our advantage. Other than 1 quarter of one game, we played better against FCS schools overall than we did against D2 schools at home. No matter what anyone says, they didnt play to their potential vs D2 schools, but they did against FCS schools. We should be better next year. And it will not be hard to get the players up and ready for the schedule.

Most of our FCS competition (SU, A&M, JSU & Campbell) this season would probably have lost to some or all of our D2 opponents (APU, UWF & NGU). I'd even take Miss. College (this season) over A&M and Jackson State. It's really hard to tell how good we were this year. The NDSU game was our only real FCS test.

I watched a lot of games, (live and replay) of our FCS opponents. What I witnessed got me excited about this year. And no, I didnt judge by just score, I watched different positions, and speed. The only two real areas we were drastically behind in was lenth and speed on the lines, and our Secondary was not very good. When either or both of them played well, we looked like a top FCS team, when they didnt, well, we got our tails kicked by Campbell in 1 quarter. I think year 2 takes a huge step forward, and judging by some of the recruits that have committed, I think we will be okay down the road as well. Roar Lions beat cocks

Anyone know of the reason of the schedule change? UNA needs to add another game. Without this game results in 2 bye weeks, 9/28 and 10/12.

Jackson State is either going to pay us $100,000 or play us the following year. Hopefully we can move a game from the back up to one of the bye weeks and get another early start on recruiting which will be critical next year.
