Lots of former and future opponents made it.
Next year, we will play two FCS conference champs - NDSU and Southern Utah.

Would like to see the KSU Samford game.
If the Big South and A-Sun deal holds up, and no movement of Schools, the Big South Football league has a chance to be very strong in a couple years.

The Owls won and Monmouth lost pretty big.
KSU will travel to play JSU.
Southern Utah and NDSU play their first playoff games next week, too.
S Utah has a rematch with Weber State. They beat them earlier in the year.
NDSU hosts San Diego.

Anybody else pulling for KSU over JSU? Not only because it would help with the perception of Big South football, but I just have a really hard time pulling for Jacksonville State. I wasn't even around for the majority of the rivalry (I'm 34), but one of the first UNA games I remember going to was the 1992 playoffs when they beat us something like 14-12. My dad told me they were UNA's biggest rival, and that stuck with me. I get that there's a certain appeal to "pull for the state" or something like that, but... nah. I enjoy having a healthy hatred for them. We have never really hated VSU, DSU, etc. But with the Gamecocks, it just feels different.

I am absolutely pulling for KSU.
I was at that game in 92 also, and I'm 35. I think we got the shaft late in that game (if I remember correctly) by three different blatant bad calls against UNA. I remember people talking about it for seemed like a month after.
VSU was more of a respect rivalry, there was a joke at one point, What is the trophy for the UNA-VSU game called? The GSC championship trophy...... But there was a few times when even this rivalry got heated. And some weird stuff would happen. Like the "Gorilla Sack" for lack of a better name.
But yeah, I respect JSU's program, they have great fans, but I don't have to like them, I don't Hate them like I do another school, but it sure has sucked over the past several, several years watching JSU play SEC, and other P5 schools while we were playing Shorter, Lambuth, and so on.
What I think is going to be great is when we play JSU at home.
And I know it will be hard to do, but I think there will be the potential for an even bigger rivalry than we have ever had before in Mobile.
I think a neutral sight game with US@ would be a money maker for both schools.
We can't play in Mobile every year, and NCAA says FBS can't play at FCS school. But I don't think it says anything about neutral sight.
So let's play the "Civil War of Alabama" in the State Capital every year. If it was done on the right date, and marketed all over the State, it would probably sell out every year.

Great news. Though unfortunately, I fear KSU will be developing into a monster program. The NDSUs and James Madisons of FCS better watch out.

Great news. Though unfortunately, I fear KSU will be developing into a monster program. The NDSUs and James Madisons of FCS better watch out. It will just make UNA better. Honestly I think it had more to to with JSU being a little down than KSU being that good. KSU is a food program, but you have to wonder were their coach will be after this year. Too many programs need a good coach in FBS not to look at him.
