I'm noticing that the gold in the athletic site and logo uploaded on FB today that the gold is darker. I like it.

Gold..much better than yeller. Ok now Bobby. Haha I Remember how excited I was about how much better the YELLOW GOLD pants looked than the boring gold. I always thought the only pants worse than ours was notre dame. But it really won't matter. We will be the purple and white with an all but invisible gold no matter what shade. I'll just have to hold my nose and cheer for the team any way.

I may have figured out the transition from yeller to Authentic Gold in the logos, its obvious if you look at the team page on the ASun website.....
Lipscomb is purple and gold (yeller) KSU is Black and Yeller......
Too much yeller in the conference so we went back to (changing the name) UNA GOLD.

Does anyone know who can undo stitching so I can take off the yeller on all my UNA stuff (mainly caps) and restitch with UNA GOLD?

I think that has to be at least a large part of it. It makes you wonder if the shift to purple and mostly white (or gray or black, ugh) on our uniforms was a result a few years back of knowing who our conference mates would be, especially Lipscomb.

Reckon Lipscomb will have to make some changes.

Regarding yeller thread removal; I would think there could be a grace period of 4 to 5 years. This would allow you to wear yore hat to all outdoor events (football, baseball, beach volleyball, softball, etc...) thus allowing the sun to naturally effect change. Course this would require a high level of attendance but that's a good thing. For those that don't have that kind of patience, this would be an opportunity to help the local economy by getting new UNA Gold gear.

Or someone saw the Orlando City pro soccer logos I shared a few months back and realized how terrible yellow looks.

Yet year after year after year LSU and the Green Bay Packers uniforms are in the top five nationally due to their gold. But who am I to judge when millions have spoken.

I Remember asking daddy about 50 years ago why we were wearing brown pants. He said that's what gold looks like and brown is what it looked like. The only gold I knew of looked like this: goo.gl/images/GqGbPWI'll be all in if we can call ourselves the UNA Browns. Pretty cool name.

I don't know, teams named Browns haven't seen much in the way of success the last sixty or so years. Now the gold in your picture...well, it's pretty refined stuff. Much too refined for such a rough and tumble sport such as football. Plus, a body could get flash burns looking at it in the daylight. I am glad though if this thread brought up a good memory. I like what Stetson has done with brown and green which being such earthy colors go together well. 'Course the Lion, being the King of Beasts, is well represented by purple and gold.

Yeah, that was back when at least half of the games were played in the mud and the ROTC would fire a cannon when we scored a TD. I remember one year it was rarely fired. Ugh. Once they set the grass on fire!
Maybe the dirty looking gold blended in with the muck so it didn't show up as much. I still believe, uniform-wise, no matter what shade they use, it will be practically invisible unless you are out on the field with them. We will be the purple and white and that's that. We can call ourselves the Northwestern kittykats south.

We can call ourselves the Northwestern kittykats south. Maybe we can get back to firing the cannon or howitzer. These days may not have to worry about grass fires cause astro-turf or whatever it's called today may not be as easy to burn. Went to a few Georgia Tech games and they've used an old gold with their blue. Looked pretty classy. The key is in how one achieves the contrast. Old gold will struggle with white but it can pop out against purple. So, don't try contrasting with white. Kittycats South might get us confused with Kennesaw State. Am kind of curious as to whether we will get recognized by our conference, ESPN, and FCS/DIV1 overall as UNA or North Alabama. Reckon I can live with either.
