Having ESPN on campus should help that, but with regards to shirts and stuff, I heard that there was a unique licenseing agreement that disabled a lot of places to carry good gear. I dunno if there is any truth to that, but I am still like you, Martins has some stuff but I prefer a little "better" quality...thwart have a great section but it's dated. I try hobbits and dicks constantly but nothing. The Bookstore is way over priced and I can't find things online either. It's hard to be a branding machine when you can't find anything to wear...that's why I would like to see if nothing else the student athletes get their fair share of stuff. It was really disappointing to go to KC last year and see all the fresh team gear NWMST had. Matching everything from hats to shoes. Head to toe. Shirts, jackets, sweat suits, leisure wear...I was stuck in their hotel and I was embarrassed for our kids after talking with several of them. A few of the kids got to eat with the Kansas Basketball team, that was nice of Kansas....but if I had to make a change, or say if I had some say....I'd make sure my athletic department looked the part of student athletes. That's the least I would do. That's inexpensive and shows appreciation. Even at D2- D1AA-D1 football is a full time job...appreciation is key. And for old farts like me...I want to support my program by wearing nice adidas threads...not ones that look like the 1990's..that's not vintage...that's poor quality. I hope this is received the right way, I just have always expected more from the GREAT UNA. I hope Kitts and Swindler are on bird and recognize who helps make this program move. It's the student body and student athletes. ROAR LIONS! I'm short and round, so I need to start shopping there. Lol. Just pickin' on ya.

A. I'm concerned at the "opting out" of playing this season. Is this additional guys or about the situation we'd already heard about?
B. Hopefully the Adidas deal will improve all of the branding of the athletic department. It's been pretty lackluster for years now.

Academy Sports is carrying UNA stuff now, I talked to a guy that works there and he said they are supposed to get Adidas stuff in bit does not know the time line. He said they are going to have a full line of UNA products, not just clothing.

What happened to Orr?

I tried searching around, checked the TimesDaily, but couldn't find anything. Didn't he sit out last year with a torn ACL? Maybe the rehab didn't go very well. It stinks, but I expected some turnover with the coaching change (though I know some of these guys we've lost this offseason have nothing to do with who's coaching). I'm at least optimistic that we seem to have brought in some good players as well. With the transition and it's dumb rule (IMO) of restricting postseason play, I felt like our toughest recruiting job would be this season and next. If Willis and staff are still able to sell guys on playing, even with no chance to win a title, I feel like that bodes well for the future.

Orr I had heard just opted out (didn't want to say quit) but you know, at every level it happens. I think our O-line should be pretty good with sogers, Harrod, Sadler, Keptjeart and Centerian...additional players were Todd and (can't think of the other one, Cozzala?) all have potential. Last year I watched most every game and Sogers did a good job against some good talent, #55 (I think Sadler) played well at I think all 4 or 5 positions thought he was impressive, Harrod played impressive at center and having a few guys to battle will be good for the team.
Now I agree about that transition bird Sh-t. I think we are gonna struggle for the first 3 years recruiting. If I were coming g out and had some skill, and want at least a ring....UNA may not be my first choice...or second or third...there are kids who just want to play D1 but there are also kids on the team that choose UNA over some lesser D1 schools like Murray state and Austin Pee....because they knew they be able to compete for a championship at a top notxhbD2 program, which statistically ranked in the top 10 conferences in all divisions every year...I mean, hopefully if the big south needs to have x amount of teams to have an auto qualifier then lets get the waiver and play ball. I believe that should be on our main agenda. We can compete right off the bat in the A-Sun, correct?

Yes we can compete for conference championships right away in the A-Sun.....just not NCAA championships. As for the Big South, I guess we could ask for a waiver, but I may cause the #2 team to be left out of the playoffs, it is still a AQ conference for the winner. The only other way is to be selected and to qualify to be selected you have to win 7 D1 games. If the number 2 team lost to UNA and a FBS game or two, it could mean that they only won 6 games and no playoffs. Then the conference is without a playoff team. As it stands, even with Liberty gone, they still are an AQ conference because of Campbell.
As for players coming to UNA, we have already gotten players in this class that came because of just going D1. They understand the transition period and don't mind. I'm sure we are losing some, but somtimes just being there is better than not.

Good Point. And thanks for clearfying the AQ, I think we could be strong from Day 1 in the big south.... Makes sense. We have a good good product, and watching UAB go through all that they went through, having Troy, Samford, Jack State, Alamaaa St and A and M, USA, and maybe Auburn..Alabama...all In State school s would be great for recruiting as well and easy on the athletic budget...since we have to schedule those out of conference games. Again, thanks for the info!
