Okay, with the way things stand right now, knowing that JSU is gone after this year, who will be our biggest conference rival?
I kinda feel like it will be atie between UCA and Austin Peay...
UCA and UNA have always had the basis of a good rivalry...
Austin Peay will be the only school in the conference that is a "Peer Institute" And I think other reasons may lead to this becoming a good rivalry.

My dad took me to see Leo I when I was a wee lad, and though I can't remember this particular visit, the story goes that we were peed on that day. By Leo, that is. So I, for one, am perfectly happy to NEVER say "Let's go Peay!" around a bunch of Lions. I just hope there is enough stability on the football side of things for the next few years to actually develop some competitive rivalries. It could be either of the teams you mentioned. It could be Kennesaw State. But we have to play these teams for a while to see it happen. I don't really understand this move to add Queens. They seem to be a much better fit for the Big South. Hopefully there are still two football additions that are in the works. Maybe after this news, those two teams will be persuaded to announce pretty soon?

I think Kennesaw will be, but I think we are more similar to both Austin Peay and UCA. As for Queens, I don't care one way or another. I do know the ASUN is trying to get to 14, so in my eyes, we are looking to get 2 football schools... I think it will be a combo of Valdosta Tennessee Tech Tennessee State West Georgia West Florida With wildcards being Any of the Louisiana schools SFA SEMO

I'm gonna post this here because I'm tired of people on other forums telling me I don't know what I'm talking about.
Confirmed
The ASUN is looking at 14 total, with invites coming after JSU and Liberty depart.
From what I'm told all will be football schools.
The list, I'm told, include but is not limited to
SEMO, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, Alabama State, SELA, McNeese, Valdosta, West Florida and Henderson St.
Also been told UNF has been to all ASUN football schools visiting and talking about the possibility of adding football. If they add football, they will use their existing stadium that I believe holds over 9k. It's a single sided stadium, but has the ability to expand on the other side if need be.
My thoughts on this is, we could add two schools that may help UNF pull the trigger on football (Valdosta and West Florida)
We could add another state with Louisiana or Missouri.
We could add someone to help UCA out (Henderson and SEMO)
We could add HBCUs in Tennessee State and Bama State.
There are legitimate options though.

Was also told that when we hit 14, there will be a meeting to discuss exit fees. Apparently most schools (probably without football) want an exit fee similar to the SoCons.

Valdosta State appears to be a real possibility. West Florida does not appear to have any interest at all? Thanks for the updates Brandon.

I actually thought Henderson State wouldn't be anywhere on a list... Thought that was a mistake and maybe another Arkansas school was meant. Anyway, in my opinion, they shouldn't be on the list.

3rd hand rumor I'm hearing...
The OVC is getting schools such as UIndy, Southern Indiana. Also courting Grand Valley State..
They are trying to boost that footprint to sway Western Illinois to join.
That being said, SEMO and Tennessee Tech are looking more like they are going to join the ASUN...

It's time for the ASUN to call up Valdosta, West Georgia, and West Florida. Maybe the vote goes through eventually to make the transition only 2 years. The ASUN would then have 7 FCS teams as of 2025. Of course, EKU could be out the door at any point. I read that CUSA wants to land at 12 or 14.
