So Looney was actually pushing for the Vegas Gold... he plans on incorporating this yellow gold into the new logos upon the next iteration. The academic side would not budge and they want the same colors. Man if true I need to eat some crow, since I had assumed Looney was behind the changes to eliminate the gold in the first place. I'd be curious to know if or how much money was wasted by switching to purple and white unis the past year (for sports other than football at least), when everything might be redesigned now in a year or two to bring back the yellow gold. I know the Adidas/Nike/Under Armours of the world provide a lot of uniforms and merch to the schools as part of the contract, but I'm not sure if they provide everything. I just wish this transition to new logos and colors could've been handled better. We do not look very D1 changing our logos and colors every year.

We have always "updated" our logo if you look back on it... The previous logo was changed 2-3 times with different golds. When Hud was coach, it was different. Now I'm sure it will be NA in White, Purple and yellow. Same with the new lion head. I will say, I love the NA for baseball. It looks like a baseball logo. As for football, if they want the lion head, keep in on the white helmet, and keep the stars on the purple.

I just hope we settle on one and keep it. Add some (yellow) gold to the lion head and let's make that our logo for the next 20+ years. I agree that "NA" works for baseball. With a little bit of gold the baseball unis would be really nice.
