Second time I’ve seen the staff tweet a picture of someone wearing the throwback helmet. Maybe it doesn’t mean anything, but I wouldn’t be upset if they want to bring this helmet back with real pride stickers. I think that should be our traditional, all the time helmet. Simple, but makes a statement. Kinda like Ohio St, Alabama, Penn St, Michigan, Notre Dame.

Cool tweet. I must admit that I wasn't into Twitter much but it's where the sports world lives. If you're on there, follow the staff and the team's individual pages!! It's a lot but important.

They are engaged more than the previous staff, that's for sure... Don't know if that will translate to wins.... IMHO, they are on the hot seat until proving they aren't.

Yeah I think they're doing a MUCH better job with social media. Heck, the people running the university's own accounts could probably learn from them. Dearmon tweets like the coach of a big-time school. I know we aren't, but "fake it 'til you make it", right?

Yeah, I've heard that, just haven't seen him until last night. I was corrected one day by saying that he was fired. Was quickly told that he stepped down.

Name another university that employs the previous AD and previous football coach… just weird. It’s not new for UNA. Dan Summy was AD from 1994-2002 and then worked for UNA for 2 decades. He may still be there. I don’t know.

Players get looked down on for leaving after one year but coaches get a free pass I guess.

Read an article in the TimesDaily this morning about Dearmon speaking to the Florence Rotary Club. Anybody here attend? Most of the article was him using buzz words and catch phrases. I am NOT saying that's a bad thing, but it will look silly in hindsight if the results on the field don't match it. Hopefully they will.
One interesting note, it seems he confirmed they are bringing back the helmet star "pride stickers" for accomplishments like the championship teams. Wonder if they'll have an all-purple helmet, or if they'll just go on the current ones?

One interesting note, it seems he confirmed they are bringing back the helmet star "pride stickers" for accomplishments like the championship teams. Wonder if they'll have an all-purple helmet, or if they'll just go on the current ones? We asked him that question at an athletic club luncheon, with a big smile he said, "To be determined " He also personally told me, since he was little, when he thought about UNA football, he thought about those helmets. He said, "The Purple and Stars are UNAs signature just like the Gold is Notre Dame, and all the classic Styles like Penn State, Alabama, Michigan and so on. I have always agreed.
