Sophomore player - Macey Lee has decided to enter the portal Interesting. She lost her starting job mid-year and came off the bench a lot. I'm sure that factors in but maybe she'll change her mind. I like her play. It's unorthodox at times with a high arching shot and wild under-the-basket shots but, in many games, her coming off the bench sparked the team. I was just watching some of the Campbell/Liberty WNIT game and missed their context of the comment but caught "kind of like Skyler Gill at UNA" from the Liberty commentators. I'll go back on the replay and see what they were saying. I so hope Gill stays at UNA.

She really struggled this year…may be better player at a lower level?

She really struggled this year…may be better player at a lower level? I watched almost every game. I didn’t think she struggled more than anyone else. She may follow Jaida Bond to North Florida. They had a down year.

Maybe it was just the games I got to watch. The last one against Stetson really stuck out. 14% from the floor in that game and missing those layups was hard to watch. I think she feels more comfortable shooting from the perimeter. At 6’0 it would be great if she was an outside and inside scorer. I hope she finds a good home, no ill will towards her. She may fit somewhere else better with her style of play? Who knows with these kids and the transfer portal? I hope we replace her with someone taller and that can help our freshman phenomenon in the post on both ends.

It’s an ongoing problem in the Lions offense.

Those misses seem to happen more frequently at home in the tournament than any other time? Sigh.

I guess missing layups isn’t just a UNA thing. Iowa women are a 2 seed and lost by 2 to the 10 seed Creighton. The Hawkeyes missed 23 layups in the game.

Another Guard and only 5’5” Maybe the coaches do not watch game film? We are short for our conference, we are short on rebounds on both ends of the court. How is the first two players you sign not over 6’ tall? Ugggh.

And she's basically a "local girl" doing this. Football, men's, and women's basketball lose their arguably best players in one athletic season. Folks can argue this is "good for the kids" all they want, but I can't say I'm having a good time.

Folks can argue this is "good for the kids" all the way, but I can't say I'm having a good time. The ONLY two things I like about it, 1- coaches can leave on a better offer, so can the athlete now. 2- at least we can get some transfers. I think the NIL has more to blame with transferring now days. Grass is always greener. Until it aint.
