what we will have playing the inaugural ASUN football season.
EKU UCA APSU UNA JSU KSU
Will the ASUN bring in another to replace JSU and start this year, or wait until 2023?

I am betting they will wait, but it is still possible. EKU still has 6 games not showing on the schedule, so there is room for 6 conference games.

Just as I post that JSU publishes their schedule with 5 conference games.

The ASUN has just announced that Jax State is ineligible for the conference title. Interesting. Obviously it’s different with JSU moving up (compared to us and Bellarmine), but the ASUN has of course stressed how all of its teams get to compete for the conference title. Not that I feel bad for JSU, haha. I guess it WOULD be awkward if the very first ASUN champ was ineligible for the playoffs. Plus, I guess it could potentially cause a situation where a WAC team gets the autobid instead. I’m sure they want to avoid giving the WAC any advantage.

Sounds like Dilbert needs to get busy in ASUN expansion. I really think Tennessee Tech fills one spot after this year. I wish Samford had interest in joining the ASUN, would logistically make too much sense.

The ASUN could catch up with them in basketball after a few years of, not losing anyone else and adding quality schools. My opinion is, we add two more football schools, get Gardner Webb and Charleston Southern to join for football only, then add a similar exit fee as the SoCon. We have to make it harder to get out.

Tough night for the ASUN.
KSU lost by 10 to Samford. UCA lost to Missouri St by 13.

Man, that Kennesaw scores surprises me.
JSU may steamroll the rest of us only to NOT be "conference champion".

Couple of surprises there for sure. JSU can run the football. JSU has an identity on offense. We do not have one yet, or least one we want anyways. Who wants to be known as the offense nicknamed sacks and snaps? Our offense hopefully by JSU game will have some things figured out? Coaches and players. We need some receivers to step up and catch the ball. Surprised Hall dropped a couple of tough catches that hit his hands, didn’t get many opportunities. We play our best quarterback last night the whole game…and maybe home with a win? Defense is very stout. As long as Bland and Shoulders are healthy we are tough in the middle. Virginia Wise is 1-0 and looking to come in and upset us. Yes I said upset. Game 1 to game 2 is typically where the most improvement will occur all year. If we only have one bad snap and 5 less penalties we have a chance. I know we had 2 turnovers but one was desperation, the other one cost us. Auburn started out like a turd in 2010 on offense. The defense kept that team alive until they figured it out. We have a chance to be like that team. We play ISU in week 3 or later, shocked if we lose. Hats off to them, they didn’t lose the game in over time, we did. We will be there week 2, wearing our Purple and Gold.
Roar Lions!

Watching EKU at Austin Peay. The young APSU coach is so energetic on the sidelines. It’s refreshing to see.

EKU, APSU, and UCA all share the inaugural ASUN title.
EKU was compared with WAC Champ SFA in the final Power Rankings and the Colonels will represent the Alliance in the playoffs.
