Well so far we gained 7 inches in transfer swap. Best of luck Ortiz unless you play the Lions!

Well so far we gained 7 inches in transfer swap. Best of luck Ortiz unless you play the Lions! You're a better man than me. I have a hard time wishing these guys luck. It feels like a player leaving your favorite pro team as a free agent (which I guess it kinda is). I don't wish anyone that transfers any ill will necessarily, I just... can't say I care what happens to them. Good or bad. I'm pretty depressed as a fan right now, but maybe it's just the summer doldrums starting early for me.

I look on the bright side, if it stays the trend, we have gotten better when players we think are good transfer out...

I'm just mad he went to UAB... I figured he would go closer to home.

I wished him well and he re-tweeted it. Who can blame a kid for wanting to transfer to a school headed to the AAC and just finished as RU in the NIT. They lost a lot so he’ll likely get some playing time and maybe make it to the big dance in March.
But, the real talk is that he was very inconsistent at UNA. We need consistent scorers that show up every game with some good contributions on offense. Mid-season lulls are rough when it’s your main guy.

It's hard to not look objectively at the situation and say Ortiz is making a "good move", but I'm still disgusted. I can't imagine how frustrating and challenging this is for the coaches. Recruitment never stops, and instead of needing to pick up 3-4 players each year, you could now be replacing an entire roster EVERY off-season. I know they get paid well, but if it's to the point of requiring 60 hours a week (or more) for 52 weeks of the year, does it REALLY pay that well? I wonder how coaches at the UNA level truly feel about it, and whether anyone will speak up and demand the NCAA for some tighter restrictions.

Mid-majors are simply the development feeder leagues for P6 in basketball now. However, in that same vein, mid-majors have the same ability to pull the top players from JUCO, D2, & other divisions if they can work the same system in their favor.

Tim Smith Jr. Just committed today. He played at Walsh, D2, and is listed at 6’7”. Stats show a little over 10 points a game and over 5 rebounds a game.

BTW, those were his freshmen stats. This past season he averaged 16.1 points and 7.8 rebounds. Found this: Tim Smith Jr.- 1st Team All-Conference- Smith Jr. has been an offensive force for the Cavaliers this season. The 6-7 Junior from Cleveland recorded a game high 27 points at Northwood.

- Averaging 7.8 rebounds per game, Smith Jr. can always be found under the hoop pulling down boards.

Is it legal to shoot over 80% from the free throw line? Yes those numbers look much better and show a lot of improvement in one year. We are definitely taller than a year ago. Some of those games where we just couldn’t rebound were tough to watch, hoping this team excels on the boards.

Speaking of FGCU in my other post, they want Skyler Gill.
But, Kansas and Oregon also. She's taking her rounds of photos shoots!
