Well, that’s 3.5 hours I’ll never get back. Lol. Watched the first game with Miss State today. Lions let a 6 run lead get away from them and lost 9-7 in extra innings to the Bulldogs. But, it was fun to see us at competing well against and hosting an SEC team. Roar Lions

Would have been a signature win for the softball program. I am surprised we haven’t pulled one of those off yet on the softball side. I guess it’s even more surprising that baseball did.

Unusual for Lions softball to get swept. We are struggling this year to win anywhere....hope our next season is much improved. Soccer sucked, baseball sucks, softball trying to get into suck club?

Lions getting welcomed to Division 1 sports. Have to update facilities across most sports, hire D-1 coaches (hiring D-2 coaches or keeping the D2 coaches on staff through transition has proved for the most part to not work), and catch up in recruiting.

I wouldn't get too worked up, Men's basketball did okay, could have done better, but played well in the conference tournament...and seems to be improving year to year....
You can't really measure football with the situation and schedule they played. I think they did okay considering.
Softball is down but by no means out, yet...
Baseball we all know needs a new staff.
Women's basketball was bound to decline, but it seems they are recruiting well.
As far as facilities, that will come. Hell, JSU played baseball in a dump until recently. Same with softball and basketball.
Flowers Hall still needs some updates but it's good.
The only thing we need is a stadium solution.

Have to update facilities across most sports, hire D-1 coaches (hiring D-2 coaches or keeping the D2 coaches on staff through transition has proved for the most part to not work), and catch up in recruiting. Overall, the programs had more success during the first two years of the transition is mainly what I'm saying. I would have bought into the "D1 Welcome" thing a bit more if Bellarmine hadn't jumped in this year and done very well in multiple sports including several wins over UNA. As for softball and baseball, the ASUN teams are doing very well in non-conference play and it's just a very decent league for those sports. The softball team is actually a veteran squad but just have faced some really tough competition this season. I'm just glad this season was played so these coaching staffs can really understand what is needed to win in the current ASUN and at D1, in general. Of course, there will now be three well-established D1 teams joining the field this fall. I will be a very interesting year for the conference and the Lions. Anyone know when the NCAA might vote on the transition post-season ban reduction?

Softball team with an abbreviated season will triple win total of the baseball team. Of course this season the baseball team may indeed set the mark for losses in a season.

We just aren’t quite to the level of KSU yet. We didn’t have an answer for them all season. Here’s to getting a jump on recruits and coming back stronger.
