Not sure if this affects the decision to build a decision on campus or just pushes back the timeline even more. UNA approved to replace the practice field/soccer field turf. It will cost $367k. It has been much needed, since it hasn't been replaced in 13 years and just patched up. However, if UNA is willing to spend $367k to replace the turf, I can't see them ripping it up in 3-5 years to build a stadium unless we can sell it to a high school or other team with need of turf. This just adds to the conversation of if they are going to build it on campus or off.
On the discussion of moving baseball, I was looking at ASUN baseball stadiums. Mike Lane Field does not need too much in upgrades to be a good facility in the ASUN. Remove the current seating and pressbox. Build a nicer pressbox and seating. Upgrade the dugouts and possbily build some seats in Left center or right field. Could probably upgrade it for less than $1M. Will it be comparable to FGCU, Stetson, or JSU? No but it will be middle of the pack ASUN.

No but it will be middle of the pack ASUN. If they are spending money on replacement turf, for that spot, then I can't imagine they will build a stadium there. And that's fine, build it in a nice location. But I would seriously consider building a facility like UAB has in that spot. As for baseball, the stands need to be took out, and modern, chair seating is needed with luxury boxes. You could still use a section or two of the current bleachers in the outfield if needed for people who like sitting in the outfield. The actual feild needs leveled out and possibly some turf. I would like to see dirt, but upkeep on overseeing grass to have green in winter and early spring is expensive. Turf would actually save the program money. And if you go turf, you may as well go with the Blue Jays style or the old Astrodome style infeild. I don't like seeing turf "Dirt" or traditional style infeild with turf.
