Leading Bama 6-5 in the 8th and we walk or hit the first 3 batters? Great strategy....have more force out opportunities? Geeezz. Bama must be pretty awful too.

Leading 6-5: Walk the lead off batter to first, Balk him to second, Wild pitch him to third, Walk the second batter to first, Wild pitch him to second, Walk the third batter to first, Hit the fourth batter with pitch, Game tied, Fifth batter gets a hit, Katie bar the door... sheesh!

He was the sixth of seven pitchers used in the game. That’s crazy.

Guess Bellarmine is pretty excited about winning a series against a D1 labeled baseball team. Yuck. We are three years into transition and they are first year winning the series? No way we lose series, maybe a game.

No way we lose series, maybe a game. I just feel sorry for our players. Like, if they aren't D1 caliber talent... that isn't their fault. The University gave them a scholarship (well in baseball it's partial scholarships for most guys, but still). They are here presumably playing a game they love. But the losing has to be tough to continue to take. If our guys are more talented than what they've shown, and just aren't getting the coaching they need, then that's on the University. Certainly this staff won't be kept after the end of the year. They either can't coach as well as they need to, or didn't sign players that are good enough. I know we have essentially had recruiting sanctions with the transition rules, but... yeah, we shouldn't be losing series to first-year teams, if nothing else.

283/293 based on RPI... Maybe they can win a game against Lipscomb. University "promised" all coaches would be on staff through transition, but I don't believe they thought baseball would be this far behind.

I think it's a coaching issue.

I think it’s a coaching issue because of the recruiting that has taken place during this transition. I've watched around 15 games this season and the glaring issue to me is size of our position players. We can't score because a lot of our hits are singles which don't turn into runs. We have got to get some kids that can hit the ball in the gaps and over the fence in order to compete in this league.. or we'll stay at the bottom. Yeah, having some short and scrappy kids on the team is good, but you need some guys that can drive in runs. We don’t have that right now. Also need some pitchers that throw in the 90s. Right now we don’t have many guys that do that. Pure honesty from what I’ve seen.

Lot of good high school talent, right here, in the north Alabama region. Need someone that can recruit it.

Also manage the game in game. I have to question using soooo many pitchers one game. Why use them all in one game? Pitchers need rhythm and also confidence to know they will not be yanked for one or two bad at bats. We also have had way too many games we couldn’t generate runs. Think some of the team would be excellent golfers, but also may not be true D1 players.
How in the world do you not reach double digit wins in a baseball season? This is the record you expect in year one of the transition. You expect to see improvement each year. I doubt the coaches can name one area of improvement? We shouldn’t need new bats.....

I think the pitcher issue is a pandemic at all levels of baseball. Part of it is managers WAY over-analyzing matchups (lefty vs. lefty, righty vs. righty, etc.). Part of it is just a general trend to have pitchers throw fewer pitches. It irritates me that you rarely see a complete game in MLB anymore. But yet, it seems like the number of pitchers needing Tommy John surgery hasn't decreased. So who knows what the best answer is there.

15 runs wasn’t enough today. UNA loses 16-15 to Austin Peay.
