Hypothetically only....
What if the ASUN commissioner would have been able to make a deal with the Southland for football?
The Southland could have the first FCS "super conference".
What if it could still be done?
The Southland currently has 11 football schools.
If the ASUN can find a 10th member with football, and play football in the Southland, they could have 2 divisions of east and west.
Say we get JSU to join.
East
KSU JSU UNA SE Louisiana Nichols State Northwestern State Mcneese State
West
Everyone else...
And if Tarleton wants to play football in the Southland, it can be offset or ASUN can go for 11 and invite West Florida....
In fact, 2, 8 school divisions could provide divisional only conference play and if you play crossover games it could count as non conference. And a championship game could happen.
Just a thought.
