Lions have been hot on recruiting in month of August. Landing big time Qb Powell from Arkansas, S Billups from Alabama, RB Davis from Arkansas, WR Woods from Alabama, RB Powell from Arkansas, MLB Taylor from Florida. Class is shaping up. Who’s next? Do we land some local flavor?

I thought it was interesting the number of guys we have been pulling in from Arkansas. Wonder if Ryan Aplin established some relationships for us over there?
I'd love to see us take a look at some Atlanta-area guys. It's a huge recruiting ground, and you can always emphasize to the parents that they'll be able to watch us in Kennesaw a couple of times.
I'd also like to see us always have a few local guys that get significant playing time. Don't get me wrong, you want the best player you can get, but I think the locals are good for the program.
Just hope all these guys coming in are part of our first Big South championship team!

I think we win Big South first eligible year... we have gotten some really good recruits the past couple of seasons, way better than expected.

We got to land the tall offensive lineman that can develop into big strong offensive lineman. If we grab a couple to three of the 6’4” type guys this cycle we are setting up great chance to knock off KSU and Campbell(on their way up). We seem to recruit speed at skill positions very well. Future looks bright.

Nice tall pickup at receiver. Get a chance watch Dion Nelson from Selma. Impressive speed and big catch radius.

The two from Arkansas look strong at Qb and at Rb. Right now we have two receivers coming in at 6’4 and also a speedster from Gadsden. We seem to identify talent at the skill positions on offense. Hoping to hear about couple of offensive lineman in next days to bolster future of the line.
Defense we have the “Freak” committed from Florida. An exciting prospect with great size at linebacker. We could use a couple ends, tackle, outside backer and safeties. Class is shaping up. Early signing day should be fun in just two weeks. Early Christmas for Lions fans? Ho Ho Ho I hope so.

The question is, what current seniors will stay? That could be a huge difference for next season.

Don’t see many seniors coming back with opportunity for conference title or playoff.

Don’t see many seniors coming back with opportunity for conference title or playoff. I could see Will Evens staying, I figure they would want a full senior season.

For a lot of the guys this is the last chance they have to play organized football. Maybe that thought drives them to come back and have one more full season.
At the same time, we probably need to be careful about having seniors blocking talented young players from getting on the field. We need to be ready for 2022, more so than 2021. If a young guy could help us make a push for the playoffs in 2022, put him out there and let him get some experience next year.
But you don't want to push the older guys out, ones that have spent their career playing here even though we are ineligible for any titles. So it's definitely a complicated situation.

I think it bodes well for the juniors that will get to play a year for the conference title and playoffs. All of our starting receivers I would think would like to be part of that team.

We need high school recruits to come through and develop. Hard decision for sure, but I’m sure Willis will tell a majority of the seniors that what they’ve done is appreciated, but it’s time to move on. Need to start gearing up for playoffs and conference championships. Unfortunately, coaching is a business and decisions have to be made..

Looks like a we picked up an outside linebacker from juco level. Hopefully we have a very eventful Wednesday with early signings. We have a good looking class at the skill positions, ready to see a couple of surprises sprinkled in too.

How many do we sign tomorrow? I am going with 13. This class will be bad luck for our competition.
