I had wanted to come to Florence this weekend, but can't. Have a family obligation that was planned months ago. Feels bad man.
Would love to see Flowers rocking for this one. If you're in the Shoals, invite everyone you know to go. Somebody says they don't like women's basketball? Tell them good women's basketball is GOOD BASKETBALL. These are two high-level teams and deserve a great atmosphere.
Editing to add, I didn't mean to overlook the men above. Obviously a good crowd would help them too. With our women, any chance we have at a conference title starts with beating FGCU. It's a tall order, but having an overflow crowd would really add to the home-court advantage.

What a fun game to watch. Noah is money and gives the Lions quite a spark off the bench. Eubank playing big early on offensive and defensive side. Love her lock down defense. Looks like a great crowd on tv.

Turnovers/rebounding got us again. Also that guard for Florida Gulf coast is likely the best player we will face all year. We didn’t have an answer for her. Offense seemed to play half court better with Coulson running the point. We may go to that more in the season? 3 Wallen plays hard and brings some game. 1 Wallen was on the court. Bond needs to get better in a hurry, need some help on the wing/perimeter. Noah gives us an outside shooter along with Ivy. Losing 5 seniors off this team. Noah will be our scorer coming back. Bond is the only other player that can score. Hope our incoming class is talented.

Tough game for the women... we can beat FGCU...
Proud the Men got the W. Got a little heated a couple of times.
The way they have played each other, I wouldn't be surprised to see UNA and FGCU turn into a good conference rivalry. Seemed like it in both games today. I think it will build. That's one thing the conference needs. (Let's hope they start football)

Someone said over 1100 at the games. That's okay...
But what do you have to do to get a good % of the students to show up? The students need to get involved, were are the greeks?
And was also told today that there are more plans for the future of Flowers Hall. Was told the main look and design would stay the same, but the endzone area on the entrance side would be taken out, and rebuilt. A new Pine Street entrance would be extended out and new stands that go from floor to top would be installed. And new restrooms and concession area in the new addition. The bottom half would be primarily student section and upper area would be more general admission. But the only way to make it feasible is to start getting people to show up for games. That should get easier when we start winning more, and playing well known programs at home. But the students have to start showing up...

So glad the men won, I watched it till I had to leave. Listened to finish on my phone. Fight to the finish...our teams seem to have that fight in them wether they win or lose. Littles seems to be playing better on offensive end, sometimes with his passes, other times it is his offensive rebounds. He should be really be a force next season. I hope James takes that step of growth next season too. We could challenge for conference next year.

Bellarmine joining next year will make the conference even more competitive. We need good off season recruiting to be able to move closer to the top of the league.
Getting students to games has been a challenge for years. Bama started rewarding theirs for attending with points they can use to purchase gear, etc. The longer they stay at game, the more points they earn.

Don’t think we will have much recruiting on men’s side? Who do we lose? Youngblood? Any one else? Women have the opportunity to land recruits and it looks like we have landed some, one is barely 5 foot tall? Probably has 40” vertical...

Youngblood will have another year. Bellarmine is ranked #1 in D2 right now as the only undefeated team left in the division.

Dunk City has turned into trey city. Hot perimeter shooting is the difference. Lions need to defend the perimeter shots as FGCU continues to make the open threes. Lions forced 13 turnovers in first half to stay in it. James account for almost a third of the Lions points in the first half, even while sitting on the bench with two fouls for last minutes of the half.

Eubanks basically won the game for the Lions today! Huge win for the Lions! She blocked shots, rebounded, got steals, and was just everywhere for the Lions. Hope she can keep that intensity up during the tournament. We needed a rebounder/mauler type down low. Great day to be a Lions fan.
