I did not see our offensive ability to win. We play very strong defense. We cannot make a shot nor do we manipulate the defense to get open shots. We are very vanilla on offense. James gives us a little bit of a post game. We need Agnew/Blackmon to return back to form. They cannot shoot 2-15 from the floor and expect us to win. Agnew/James cannot have 10 turnovers combined either. Problem with being a defensive team is not turning over the competition enough or when we do only getting 5 points off 9 turnovers. We turned it over 16 times on offense which resulted in 22 points for Liberty. Team needs to start showing some growth from these games. I am seeing the same problem each game. Frustrating knowing we had the ball 2 or 3 times down by 3 and never threatened to get any closer. Come on Lions! I will keep watching and rooting, but doing the same thing over and over is not going to produce different results. These are literally the same general frustrations Alabama faithful had that got Grant and Pujol canned in T-town. I think, during this time of transition, it is a good thing that our boys are playing some strong D. Based on our shooters only managing 2-15 from the floor...thank goodness for a good D. I agree that Agnew and Blackmon need to get back to form (play smart and work for high percentage shots). Make those shots and eliminate those turnovers and this game would have been out of reach for Liberty and folks would be talking about our offense instead of our defense.

At this time, we have yet to reach the talent level of the Bill Jones teams of the 70s and 80s and Elliot's teams in the 80s and early 90s. Many times we beat D1 teams for players and sometimes beat big time D1 teams for players. There were THREE major reasons for that. The coaches of course which also included Alabama's first basketball All American, Wendell Hudson, but maybe the biggest was the atmosphere at Flowers Hall. I know Robert Taylor turned down Michigan and Notre Dame because of all the trips to Florence he made to watch the Lions in the Super 70s. He said he had never experienced anything like it on his other recruiting trips. The Same with Barry, "Buck Williams." He turned down Louiville and the great Denny Crum. Our transfers were SEC starters. Those Jones teams were incredibly hardnosed and disciplined MEN, the Indiana and Bobby Knight of the South. What Jones said was law and the program and fans reaped the rewards. I didn't see that in the game I went to last year or the last couple of games I saw in the Champagne years. MAYBE all of that will change when we can compete for Championships, MAYBE. The obvious finger points to the coaching staff. Let's hope that the problem ISN'T their evaluation of talent. If it is, we will have to act quickly to make a change.

If it is, we will have to act quickly to make a change. I think we have good talent considering the situation... Times have changed, not sure Jones could get the job done in this era. And I agree, i have heard stories about the crowds at Flowers before, if we start winning more, competing for the tournament, the crowd should show up. The discouraging thing is the students not being involved. How do you change that?

Yeah, the snow flakes of today would quit and file lawsuits.
I don't think you can change anything in the Shoals. Back in those days, there was absolutely nothing to do but go to UNA and high school basketball games. Flowers Hall and all the high school gyms were packed. Now kids had rather stay home and play those dumb games like fork knife or whatever. If they happen to stumble into Flowers, they sit there with thumbs aflying! Of course, UNA itself is to blame as well. They've made it more than clear that silence is golden at UNA sporting event which almost completely destroys the home court/field advantage. Dungbells.

On a night when we didn’t shoot it well, rebound it well, or defend the perimeter well, we found a will to win on the road against a bigger built team.

The Flames have back to back losses in the ASUN for the first time ever after Stetson pulls out the upset today.

The Flames have back to back losses in the ASUN for the first time ever after Stetson pulls out the upset today. Maybe us playing them tough wasn’t a fluke? They’ve now struggled or lost to the 2/3/4 teams in the conference.

If our guard play doesn’t pick it up this one will be ugly. Not scoring points and hoping Liberty misses shots if not a recipe for a win. We must put some pressure on the other team to score. Lions score over 30 points in first half and make a game out of it today! This applies for both Ladies and Men games today. Our guards must play up to their potential to win.

Good win for the ladies. The Lions hit 13 three's from 6 different players.
