Three of our opponents made the 24-team playoff field. Monmouth was the Big South automatic qualifier as conference champ and Kennesaw State made it as an at-large selection. Both will play the opening weekend with Monmouth hosting Holy Cross and KSU traveling to Wofford. Montana received the sixth seed in the tournament and will have a bye week before hosting the winner of Villanova/SELA winner. As mentioned in another thread, Coach Hudspeth (in his first season as head coach there) has led Austin Peay to the OVC title (their first since 1977) and their first-ever appearance in the playoffs. They host Furman. Also mentioned in the press release: * Consecutive Tournament Appearances in the Championship Ending (Jacksonville St. – 6) www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2019-11-24/fcs-bracket-revealed-2019-division-i-football-championship

Very impressed with what Hud has done in Clarksville. Of course, Healy had them on the right track after he took over a dumpster fire.

I don't feel like the Big South got a lot of respect, though to be fair, some past performances are certainly part of that reason. But Monmouth, assuming they beat Holy Cross, will have to face #2 James Madison in the second round. That's not a good draw at all.
Nothing against JMU, but I'd like to see Monmouth beat them.

Pulling for all Big South teams to advance, the better our conference fairs, the better it will be for us in a couple of years. We should have one hungry team in year 5 of D1 transition. Team should be ready to make the playoffs. 2 down 2 to go. Hang in there, we are half way thru this transition.

Round 2 will be extremely difficult for the conference... True, I think JMU is 2 and Weber State is 3. But we have 2 in the second round and many a conference do not. Got to get through the best to be the best. Can't get through the second round of you don't get there. Big South has a shot of moving on.

Hud and APU won big. They now have to travel way out to Sacramento State now.

KSU was looking good and Weber State rallied for the win. Montana may pull it off? Of course there is North Dakota State again...should be interesting.
