NCAT may be looking at the troublesome fact that the money games for FCS may soon dry up if some have their way. Once that happens, FBS may lock the barn door and throw away the key. NCAT may be looking to sneak in before that happens. Getting 800k to a million dollars is much better than getting bupkis. Hey new guy on the block. Don't want to make waves. However, B1G thought they would ban FCS and everyone would follow.....nope. Why not? NCAA laws say FCS is D-I but a different "subdivion" making it a "counter game" (ya only get one) that makes sense. How can a Wofford compete with an Ohio State in football? Ok let's not pretend it's even/steven in olympic sports but at least there is a fighting chance, also, with Basketball an autobid to the dance. Which is kinda a big deal of course. Is FCS relevant in 2019? I mean Ivy League is FCS they kinda started it. FCS is D-I in name and get to mingle with the FBS guys. FCS fills a niche, guys that are half a second too slow or an inch too short. NC A&T has outgrown an antiquated HBCU format/system. They want to be big, they want to be all inclusive. Is there a place in 2020 for HBCU type higher education. N.C. A&T is already all inclusive, so are all other HBCUs. There’s professors, students and board members of all races. Anyone can attend an HBCU. The only difference is that majority of the professors, students and board members are black. No different than the majority of the colleges in this country, that have majority white students and faculty, so how is it antiquated? If a college isn’t majority white, then you question if there’s a place for it in higher education?

Florida A&M has posted that they have a "Major" announcement tomorrow. Will they pull a NCA&T and change conferences? If they do, will the join the ASUN? Football would reunite with NCA&T and Hampton in the Big South. This could be interesting.

It was give the ASUN one of the four new schools for basketball also help the Big South in football when Kennesaw State and North Alabama move their football from the Big South.

So, you think this is what is going on, or how this is what is going on? You excitement makes it hard to tell... lol But that does make some sense, being that the ASUN wants 12, it would make sense to have another school in Florida. Basically, if I am reading right, you are saying that FAMU will stay with the ASUN through the change and not be with the UAC? That's what I'm thinking as well.

If the UAC happens and UNA and Kennesaw both leave for it, the Big South would be back down to only 6 football playing schools. That doesn’t even take into account the possibility of a school like Campbell leaving in the shakeup. So I think for them to remain a viable football conference, they almost have to work with the ASUN to find schools that will continue to be ASUN for most sports and Big South for football. Meanwhile, I wonder how many more losses the MEAC can sustain. I wonder if we might see it eventually fold or merge with the SWAC?

Well jeez. Guess we got some egg on our faces on that one Still, I do think Hampton and NCAT leaving that conference may be the beginning of the end. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the larger MEAC schools like FAMU are looking around. North Carolina Central is another candidate, I would think.

I dont know if we got egg on our face, nobody said that it was going to happen, just a what if that happens. At the moment, I think we are all looking for something to talk about to get our minds back to sports.
