There is some good names in this tournament. I'm excited and pissed. Got to miss the first round, maybe I'll make it to the second when we host Southern Miss.

Looking at our side of the bracket, looks very winnable... If I’m right the setup is higher seed host each week and higher RPI will host championship. Just going by record UNA by far has the better team, should be interesting to see how far we can advance in our 1st year in D1. Here is a look at the teams on our side of the bracket, host team with astric, and record:
*UNA (19-8) Georgia state (17-13)
*Southern Miss(17-13) Nicholas State (20-11)
*North Texas(15-15) UTRGV(18-14)
*UC Riverside (17-15) Utah state (16-15)

GA State looks a lot like UNA at first glance. They were picked low in pre-season but ended as the 4th seed in the conference tournament. But, then lost by two points to the 5 seed. Sound familiar? That game with App State is on demand for ESPN+ subscribers. It was on Thurs., 3/14.

If so, interesting that we are hosting over GSU. I wonder if there are other factors in play, like attendance. I’m sure we had a higher average attendance than some of these teams. Just for kicks, I looked up a couple of GSU’s games, one against Troy and another against Georgia Southern. Attendance was 460 and 675. Our average was at least 1000 I would assume, and that might be conservative. I looked at a few of our totals and they were all over 1100.

According to the NCAA Georgia State average attendance was 480 our average attendance was 870. We had several low attendance games before Christmas. Also the bids could have something to do with it. It is also possible that a school couldn’t host on a particular night. According to RPI I’m thinking Georgia State also.

NICE start. Who knew that an offense didn’t have to consist of nothing but 3-pointers?

Well, tough sledding for most of the second quarter, but finally had some shots fall there toward the end. Sloppy play by both teams, really. We haven’t played well all year after extended breaks.

Lions up by 6 at the half. Very sloppy for both teams.
Poor Stetson getting blown out by South FL. USF up by 26 at the half. They have scored 55 points.
