Anybody heard anything about postseason chances for the women? I was afraid the quick exit in the conference tourney put a damper on our chances, but I just saw this tweet...

Maybe an at large bid in the WNIT?

There is a possibility, but a slim chance. Losing six out of the last eight games is what hurting.
I’m sure that 19 - 8 record will be a lot better than several teams in the WNIT.

The finish, combined with our relatively high RPI due to our pretty weak non-conference schedule - that made me think originally we needed to make the conference tournament final to have a chance at the WNIT. I’d be thrilled with an at-large though, even if we’re an 8-seed. The CBI would be fine as well. As upsetting as our play down the stretch was, I still think this team could pull off an upset or two.

After the dismal play in the last 8 games that would be pretty amazing. We lost a lot of steam from the first part of the season. We definitely need discipline...all those unforced turnovers cost us. When your opponent gets that manymore shots a game, you will likely lose.

I'm thinking the WBI. The WNIT projections only have Stetson from the ASun. Once again, if your not in the SEC, you dont count. Even damn Tennessee is in the hunt for a WNIT at large bid.

I have no doubt, Tennessee will get an at large bid to the WNIT. They will be in the first ten selected for an at large bid.

From what I have read about the WBI, they select a “pool” of possible teams in February and offer the school a potential spot. The school has to agree to host the game and all that comes with that. Then, they’ll of course make their selections after the NCAA and WNIT spots have been filled.
So I’d say it’s likely that the WBI offered us a potential spot when we were sitting in a solid 2nd in the conference standings.

FGCU and Liberty play for the ASUN title this afternoon.

For anyone that doesn’t know, the women’s NCAA selections will be announced this evening. I assume the WNIT, WBI, etc. will announce shortly after.
