What a great game and atmosphere, Wow is all I can say! I would love to see a crowd like that in Flowers one day! Liberty gets the win over lipscomb.

Will Lipscomb get an at large bid? Interesting to see what happens there...

Dang. Was pulling for Lipscomb. Liberty winning is the best situation for the ASun. It's the only possible way to get 2 in the tournament. If Lipscomb would have won, no possibility of 2. Not saying 2 will get in, but at least now there is a shot. Lipscomb is high enough in the NET that they can grab an at large spot from a P5 conference on the bubble.

I agree witha win over P5 team TCU and wins against Navy, SMU, and Vermont. Lost by 4 at Louisville and Belmont, wins at either would have locked them into an at large bid. I still think they have a good chance.

I agree that Liberty winning was for the best, but I still worry Lipscomb will be left out.
While the committee will be using the NET rankings this year, I've read some things that say they'll still refer to the RPI to make some choices, since the NET is in its first year. Well, LU is sitting at #70 in RPI. So that's not good. One site had them as a 0.4% chance of making the tournament.
The biggest thing that will hurt LU, and likely keep them out (IMO) is their strength of schedule - it's ranked #204. Part of that is certainly not their fault, but I just don't think they'll have a good argument over some power conference teams due to that.
Our SOS, in comparison, was just #178 - even with the tough schedule we had. That's what makes life in a conference like this so tough. The conference brings down the S0S so much that you are left trying to schedule a murder's row schedule each year, which means having to play a ton of non-conference games on the road, which means the losses pile up, and then not winning your conference tourney means you don't appear to have the "resume" to make the NCAA...
But hey, this is all still better than D2.

Yeah, I know it was for that reason. I just don't like them. Saw on another forum that they pay their coach over $500K. Must be nice to have all that Christian money.

Will be interesting to see how those change over the next week as they are idle. www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankingsSpeaking of D2, I noticed four GSC teams made it to the NCAA tournament this year. DSU won the tournament and VSU, UWA and UAH also made it. That regional should be very competitive.

Wow, folks on the ASUN message board don't seem to think Lipscomb has a chance at the big dance (even one Bison fan). I hate that for their seniors. Fingers crossed they get in.

For Lipscomb to get in would be determined by how many automatic qualifiers that is listed that has a net ranking of say 50 - 100 if there are 12 or more they will not make it. If Liberty is the only automatic qualifier within that range then Lipscomb should make it.

Not really about this post but kinda, how much should we eventually pay a basketball coach? I dont dre 500k, but I dont think 300k is that far off, especially if Pujol keeps heading in the direction I think he will.
