Coaching Strategy: He has one with a batting avg. less than .100 and made the most errors on the team playing every inning. He has left pitchers in struggling with no one even warming up in the bull pen until we are down 4 to 6 runs. He has a pitcher with ERA at 0 throwing over 90 mph shut out all batters last two times but has only pitched 5 innings. Has brought in a pitching coach no one is impressed or and now even the whole team is down. Going to be long year.

Yeah, long year.
Baseball is my favorite sport right up there with football. To be honest with you, I didnt really expect much this year, at least not to the expectations of softball and womens basketball, but I expected to have a couple more wins to this point.
I cant put it all on coaching though, to be honest about it, the players have to step up and take advantage of situations, and they haven't. I understand being upset about not pulling or putting in people when it's getting bad, but a lot of times, they have been in great situations and just simply failed to execute. That's all on the players. At some point you have to take control over the situation and do your job. Every pitcher I have watched this year will go up 0-2 just to throw 4 strait balls. Let your fielders get the outs.... And our batters, being ahead 3-0 will take 3 strait strikes, down the middle of the plate and strike out. That dont cut it. The coach can only do so much. And I'm not just taking up for him, hes not my favorite, but hes only as good as his players. Until they start thinking and execute, I cant put the bulk on coaching.
I'm just going to enjoy watching our boys play against the level I have always thought we belong. To me, I would rather play(even if we are having a bad year) Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, JSU, Troy, the ASun as a whole than Shorter, Trivecca Nazarene, or Central Lutheran College University of auto repair and hair stylists.

Now that we are playing higher profile teams we are seeing the true colors of Keehn. He could hide behind the "Shorter, Trivecca Nazarene, or Central Lutheran College University of auto repair and hair stylists". I have a talked to some past players and they all think that Keehn should be fired and all of them have said that he is a high school coach at best. Fire this guy immediately.

Taking all into consideration, we lost many of our main players last year. Moving into DIV I with a young team and several JUCO transfers we all knew it would be a beginning of some building years. On this forum and around campus we can argue and express our frustrations. The fact is Keehn has hired a pitching coach that does not know how or believe in motivation and building a team. Talk to the current players and parents. You will see on the field no cheering or encouragement. You will find they are not disappointed in loosing to good teams, they are disappointed they can not have fun, play to win and encourage each. We have struggled on offense, made errors on defense, I agree it is not all coaching however, adjusting the line up making decisions and working the pitchers could have produced a couple of wins. AND THAT IS COACHING....

And we shouldn't have to look that far, the Shoals area and North Alabama in general is a baseball hotbed.

Wouldn’t even have to look that far.. 3 guys that play football could be in the starting line up for us right now but never heard back on playing. Some schools have different rules I guess. Just saying.
