Well, trailing by 1 at the half after such poor shooting is a good thing, I guess?

Gonna be a long night if she dont pull her head out of her but. She is a very sloppy ball player. And, I guess Emma can only shoot when standing still and unguarded.

Not getting much “home cooking” from these refs.

Welp, again this year. These girls can't finish. Agreed. Third straight year this team has fizzled at the end. Disappointing. One-and-done in three consecutive conference tournaments.

When Colson fouled out we were in trouble. She plays with better control than any of the other girls. I hope we find an outside shooter, we just are not capable of making anything from the perimeter. Panetti played well, just didn’t have the length of Bond. The ability of North Florida to rebound was huge. Our little short girls played soo hard and really wanted to win. Maybe we pickup a couple of difference makers prior to next year? Hopefully one is 6’3 or we will be in trouble. We were thinking NIT at one point? Good to know that we can get people to Flowers again. Hopefully in 4 years we will be even more improved and have more at stake

I’m not asking for favoritism, but how often do you see the visitors in the bonus with 6+ minutes to go in the game? Or was it 7? In a two-point loss that is huge. Great season, and I’m proud of this team, but it just stinks to end it so soon. It was a tough draw having to beat UNF for a third time. But, we lost some games we shouldn’t have or we wouldn’t have been the 4-seed. Just a really tough final few weeks of the season.

Not if you look at these numbers: Panetti 8-10 FG for 80% 19PTS, 4 STL, 4 BLK Ivy W. 5-18 FG. for 36% 11PTS, 3 Asst, Coulson 4-8 FG for 50%. 11PTS, 2 Asst, Emma W. 3-12 FG for 25% 7 PTS, 4 Asst Eubank 1-5 FG for 20% 2 PTS, 5 Asst, 8 REB Madden 1-4 FG for 25% 3 PTS, Stults 0-5 FG, 1 REB
Panetti was the best player again tonight, not sure the coaches and other players realize how little we do to get her the ball. She is money around the goal. She also made all 3 of her FT. Colson makes some great length of the court passes for easy transition buckets. Ivey not getting more assists and shooting 18 shots hurt. We need her to get the others easy baskets. Shooting 4-26 for a paltry 15% behind 3 point line even against North Florida will get you beat. We shoot 12 less shots from 3 and try closer range shots probably make 3 of those game is over with a win.

Like we’ve said, I think the biggest issue with our offense was the reliance on 3-pointers, which to be fair is something that’s pretty prevalent in college basketball. You don’t see a lot of scoring in the 10-15 foot range. It’s either points in the paint, or from beyond the arc. So when the 3s aren’t falling, and/or the defense is shutting down your bigs, there’s no other reliable scoring option.
Panetti was money all season. For her to have 19 points against a talented defender in Bond is pretty impressive. Unfortunately we just couldn’t hit any 3s. And it’s not like it was from UNF playing exceptional defense. We had open looks that just did not go. My gripe is, if you’re sitting there, say, midway through the 3rd quarter, and it’s obvious that those shots aren’t falling, why not try something different? I get that as a coach you can’t force players to pass up open looks, but did we try to change things up?
Looking to next year, we only lose two seniors, though both are contributors for us. We should be in the thick of things again. I think the #1 priority should be bringing in someone who can spell Panetti or even be on the floor with her to help if the outside shots aren’t falling. Everybody wants a player like that, so it won’t be easy, but hopefully there’s someone out there. Maybe a grad transfer that sees the potential for this team to finally put it all together and make a run in March.
