We lost the qb due to the playoff issue. ETSU made the playoffs last year. He really liked coach Aplin, he was torn. NCAA really hurt programs recruiting with the 4 year thing? Guess they prefer schools do not move up? Class is very good, addressed some major needs. McMullan should start on online. Two DL from Memphis could play this year. Ryan and Toles have a chance to be very good. Dawson is an exciting young linebacker. They really like him and his ability to play early along with Driggers. Picked up a solid qb backup for next year and possible starter the following year. Two good backs to join some young talented backs. Imagine the class will grow in next couple of weeks/months. We still have some scholarships to use and will be waiting on some juco guys, maybe FCS/FBS transfers summer. Stay tuned! Roar Lions! The "four year rule" is the dumbest thing in sports. I actually think it would be understandable for a program that is moving DOWN from one division to another. You wouldn't want that team to have the unfair advantage of making the playoffs using players that were recruited when the school was in the higher division. But if our players and teams are good enough to qualify for the postseason, in any sport, how is it fair to deny them that opportunity? Especially seniors, for example, that came to UNA when the move to D1 was not yet a sure thing. I get that the NCAA wants to discourage some schools that probably shouldn't make the move, from doing so. Certainly there could be a better way, though, than punishing the kids and the fans who had absolutely no say in whether the move happens or not. And like you said, it just makes recruiting difficult and could possibly delay our entire athletics program from competing at a higher level once we are through the transition. The whole thing is just asinine. Ok, rant over. I guess. To make this post productive, here is the link to this morning's wrap-up in the TimesDaily... North Alabama Football: Lions add 12 signees

At this point in time why would we be interested in who North Dakota State sign unless we were trying to recruit the same players. To see how the best do it?

I hate the four year transition period. It makes no sense. And, almost a year in, it is clear that football is the program that will suffer the most during the process. No conference the first year and can't play for conference title for the next three.

I am guessing Steadman didn’t do one for the defense? Thanks for the one on offense.

Per Jbril's twitter.
First off I would like to thank the most high for the path he has placed me on. It hasn't been ideal but, it has allowed me to grow in unimaginable ways. This time last year I was at my lowest point mentally and emotionally. I had reached my breaking point and had no idea how to continue with my football career. I would like to thank Hinds football and Coach Williams for giving me the opportunity to prove myself, regain my confidence and go through the recruiting process again. I would like to give a very special shoutout to my family, friends, coaches, both new and old, Hinds teammates and VT brothers for all of your continued support along my journey. So many special individuals kept me afloat throughout everything; many extending beyond themselves so that I could continue to chase my dream. I won't let y'all down.
With that being said I will be continuing the next chapter of my career at the University of North Alabama.

So Glaze was a 2-star recruit back in 2017, at least on Rivals. Is it safe to say we've never signed anyone higher than that? Is this our first 2-star? I don't pay a lot of attention to recruiting so don't know what D2 schools have averaged in the past. Are they usually limited to 1-stars or guys who are not even tracked by the recruiting services?
Needless to say, some ranking system is not the end-all, be-all. I'm very excited for Jbril to continue his career with us.
If I'm not mistaken, he has 3 years to play 3 - he redshirted at Virginia Tech in 2017 and played this past season at Hinds CC.

I think Jenoris was a 5 star out of high school if I'm not mistaken.

This feels more like a "recruit" than a transfer. But I guess it isn't all that different.

We've signed a few 2 stars in the last 2 classes. I'll research and send them in here.
