"Would love to see a big crowd out there." Dead horse. I was just quoting what coach said at the end of the video...

At least we didn't have this guy to contend with monster. goo.gl/images/fz9VKWMost 7-2 players don't have much skying ability. Pembrook didn't have the quickness and leaping ability. Artis had no problems. The Big A had a 31-inch waist and 27-inch thighs which propelled him to the top of the backboard! UNA's defensive demon, Willie West played against him in high school. Willie played for Headland and The A Train played for Dothan. Coach P would have loved Willie West! Willie said Artis would have been incredible in high school but he wasn't real aggressive on offense. He would get in the lane and start pivoting too much in the lane and get called for 3 seconds too much instead of just taking it straight up and laying it in. No dunking or three pointers, shot clock either.

37-26 Lions at the half. Pretty crazy to hold JU to only 26, considering the score of our first meeting. Hope we can hang on to this thing and lock up 6th in the conference (and avoid Liberty or Lipscomb in round 1 of the conference tourney).

Final media timeout, Lions up 69-48. Great performance by our guys tonight. Tavon King fouled out, but he had 24 points.
It’s been a rough season at times, but you can see some of these guys improving. That’s all I asked for.

How about King’s last two games? He has been our key offensive player? Did not see that coming? Good win for the Lions, need all the confidence we can get. The ladies really need to find a way to win tomorrow. Hopefully we can reduce the turnovers and turn up the defense. Would love to see us come out in full court press, get some steals and easy transition buckets. Seems to jumpstart the team when defense is turned up.

Anybody planning on being there for the women tonight? The box score says attendance last night was 1112, which honestly for a Tuesday night game might not be too bad, all other things considered.
The women need some support to end this three-game skid. Second place in the conference might be a lost cause now, but Liberty is just one game behind us in the loss column for third. We definitely need to finish strong these last two games (and beat Liberty, of course).

Nice! We won and Stetson lost. Wow, interesting. And they play FGCU to close the season, I believe. We have a tough final game at Liberty, and obviously need to beat Lipscomb Saturday, but there’s a chance we could tie them for second. With us splitting the two games we played against each other, I’m curious what the tiebreaker would be. Overall record? RPI ranking? Something else?

I assume RPI, which UNA currently has the advantage.
Stetson finishes on the road at KSU and FGCU. Both will be tough games.
