Whew...these Tigers have a lot of speed. Memphis isn’t built big like BYU. Speed at skill positions is very obvious. We are built similar to Memphis. We are not that fast yet, getting faster thru our current recruiting. Files really needs to keep learning and developing. Hopefully he will be ready to go after playing Lopez for two years. Files throws a tight ball, not sure about his speed? Memphis brought a good crowd to Birmingham. Hope we take a good crowd to Memphis.

Don't think Files is much of a runner, so you'll probably see more pro-style under center stuff down the road. You'll still have the Spread RPO style that Aplin brought from his years with Malzahn, but I'm expecting to see more down hill running and play action, while under center. That is IF Files wins the job after Lopez leaves. Never know when a potential FBS transfer could come in. Especially with a young OC like Aplin that a lot of guys would love to play for. Just a thought..

There are a couple of good options at QB now. The kid from VMI, Hodges, everything I have watched on him looks good, his numbers was bad because he had no blocking and WRs was dropping perfect balls.

Aplin wants a mobile QB. Which is honestly what we'll need for unfortunately years to come. We need a guy that can escape and make plays when protection breaks down, which I don't really see stopping anytime soon.
