Thought I'd start an on-going thread for news-related posts about the Big South Conference.
Per FootballScoop:
Charleston Southern (FCS – SC): Head coach Mark Tucker has resigned after two seasons and an 11-11 mark. Tucker previously served as the program’s quarterbacks coach from 2013-16.

I think you're the first person to mention this two month old story. Bad blow.

I think you're the first person to mention this two month old story. Bad blow. It's an update to the story that broke in Oct since CSU had 45 days to respond. The amount of vacated wins had not yet been determined. But, yeah, not good for them.

Seems to me that they could have been more dominant than they were if they were going to cheat.

Not news, just an opinion.
I have emailed ASun commissioner Gumbart asking his opinion and I have not got an email back as promptly as I normally do, could be he is thinking on my opinionated question or he can not respond to the type of question or it's the holiday season and he has no time for it. Dint matter, so I will ask yall.
3 of the soon to be 7 (with Presbyterian leaving for football) will be non Big South school for other sports. UNA(ASun), KSU(ASun) and Monmouth(??cant remember off the top of my head) with the other 4 being Big South Schools. If the ASun was to have 1 more school play football, weather it's a new addition or say Jacksonville adds scholarship ball or someone add football, it will be even numbers. The question is why is the Big South flying the flag (for lack of a better word)? Why cant ir be a separate, football only FCS conference? Reason I like the idea is, you can put in stipulations on who could play in the conference, instead of saying, you have to be in the Big South or ASun, cause Monmouth ain't, and at this point, they may be most likely to join another conference, we could just have a new Southern football league. Say Tarleton joins the WAC, and they dont have enough to have AQ for the playoffs, why not let the Tarleton or any other Texas school play Football in our conference? It's just 1 sport. Anyway, just think it should be separated like the MVFC is from the MVC. From what I can understand, the Missouri Valley Football Conference is not controlled by the Missouri Valley Conference, the just use the name with Football added. I would be in favor of a name change.

Denson didn't have any history with CSU, that I could tell. That's interesting. He's originally from Florida, so maybe they are banking on him having some connections there. That article doesn't seem extremely complimentary of him, however. Obviously running a program is a lot different than being a position coach. Good luck to him and the Bucs. We need them to return to the stronger team they were a few years ago.

Good luck to him and the Bucs. We need them to return to the stronger team they were a few years ago. Why? I'd like to see an overall stronger Big South conference. Stronger conference = more opportunities to get in the playoffs if you don't win it and receive the auto-bid. Did you see how KSU literally blew out everyone in the conference last year? To me, that just fuels the narrative that right now the BS is one of the weaker conferences. That being said, if we continue to schedule tough non-conferences games, and win them, it will probably be a moot point how those other teams do. But I still think it would be good to have at least 3 Big South teams each year that are playoff-caliber.
