Why does baseball start so early and end so early?
Seems to me, the end of March-July would be the best timeframe for baseball season. To be honest, I'm not a fan of sitting in the cold and wind in late winter and early spring provides. And there is really nothing going on in the summer months so more fans can show up for games. I understand that college students will be gone for the most part, but the communities will be more willing to show up. Baseball and softball are supposed to be summer games.......

I'm sure it has to do with the semester dates. It's hard to regulate eligibility of players if they are not in school.
I notice the D2 World Series wraps up in early June, while the DI CWS doesn't end until late June.

Right after I read your post I went on FB and saw that three of UNA's baseball team graduates Saturday. It's time for jobs and life not 2.5 more months of baseball.

I would rather do baseball for a couple more months. Real life will be there.
