Oh well. They fought back just enough to make the loss hurt worse.
Govs kick a FG to take a 10 point lead with a minute left.

Ten-point loss.
Not as bad a score as I'd anticipated.

Now that I can post, we was about as flat as a team as you can be as a team, even on the sideline, acted like they was sick or something... second half, a totally different team...
I like the fight, just wish they would have done it the whole game...

Kept up with the game on Twitter after I got off of here yesterday. Glad we came back to make the score look respectable, but moral victories get us nowhere at this point.
On the bright side, Austin Peay is a program that for years was at the bottom of the OVC. If they can turn things around as they have, there’s no reason why we can’t. I’m not smart enough to know if it’s necessarily coaching or talent or a mixture of both. But hopefully another year of both can give us a winning season, at least.
A win over UCA next weekend would at least be a nice way to head into the off-season.

And I'm not talking individual, they all know what to do individually. But as a team, things are more complicated, but when they figure it out, they will be extremely hard to stop. APSUs coach said it in their after game interview. Like winning, losing is also a habit, we had talent with Willis, they just habitually lost. (Coaching didn't help) What I love about Dearmon, no excuses... He hates to lose, and hates moral victories... I give us next year to actually be competing for the conference championship, the next to make playoffs.

Just looking at some stats, if UNA would have made all the 2-pt conversions, we end regulation in a tie...

Or did he come after Hud? I’m hazy on the timeframe. Either way, I’m sure he would’ve done some great things there if he knew how to… well, there’s no reason to go into his off-field behavior. We all know about that. I’m hoping Dearmon can do the same thing here that Hud did (or more obviously) with none of the extracurriculars.

I’m not sure why, other than they just expect it to happen, so it does. One thing we HAVE to do for next season is to clean up all the penalties.

Hud was the first to get them to the playoffs (even with Jax State still in the conference). He’s a turnaround specialist. He certainly did it for UNA.

Just looking at some stats, if UNA would have made all the 2-pt conversions, we end regulation in a tie... The worst decision of the game was going for it on 4th down in the first quarter on the Lions side of the field. Our punter is decent and should have been on the field to punt. Terrible decision by the coaching staff.
