Just shows how little fluke hits can change a game. Of course Broadfoot would be the one to actually have a legit hit and put Bama up 3-1.

Great catch by the Bama player to steal the homer. The Lions needed that badly, though.

Good game overall. The one inning was the killer. Bama wins 5-2.

Saw the official attendance was 4009. That's more than the capacity of Bama's softball stadium, apparently. So it's good to see there's that much excitement. If the temps had been in the 60s, I bet even more folks would have shown up.
The losing sucks, but still a good night for Florence.

I know if ifs and butts where candy and nuts we would all have a great Christmas.....
BUT, do yall realize UNA ties that game on their home field....
Alabama could not have made that homerun stealing catch in the 6th...
I know, it may not have happened and all that, but I'm just sayin....

If I'm not mistaken, one of the Liberty games a couple years ago was pushing 3k? Is there any way to look back at that?

UNA would have likely won on their own field. I hate that they played at that barren facility.

We lost 5-2. Other than that disastrous 4th inning, I felt that we played better against Bama than last year

This begs the question: did Bama refuse to play at our park or did UNA choose the Sportsplex for more parking?

I looked and it seems we've only played Liberty at home once, in 2019, for a 3-game series. And attendance was in the 400 range. Our average seems to be somewhere around 400, actually. Anybody know what "capacity" is? I think playing at the Sportsplex was purely to attract as many people as possible. At the current stadium the only parking lot is next to the farmer's market, right? Maybe there's one by those tennis courts on Fairground Road. I don't think there's any way there could have been enough parking for 4000 people without lining cars up and down Fairground and Chisholm. Would I rather play them at "home"? Yes. Do I get doing this as a one-off to potentially attract more potential fans? Sure. Hopefully some people that attended last night, who might've shown up to cheer on the Tide, saw that we are actually pretty good ourselves and will decide to come to another game sometime. That would be the end goal, I assume.

Also, I have to stay on brand here and say that I'm not a fan of our BLACK uniforms, at all. But, to be fair, softball was the first of our teams to ditch gold. I don't think they've really worn any gold for years now.

I just saw a photo from the outfield POV and it was literally netting they were using as a fence. Not even waist-high. What in the world? That's inadequate for college-level sports.
