What a chance to get our season kickstarted! Tough team to play at home. If our Lions can play without turnovers and hit their open shots, we may surprise in Starkville? The mens team is still looking for that big signature division 1 win. Our newcomers will have to be able to control the glass. I think our guards will hold up well, our post must play big. I do enjoy basketball season….hoping this year will be special to watch. Next year we can compete for a place in the dance!

Wish we didn't lose those transfers. This game would be more interesting in that situation.

Maybe…Littles was a beast on the boards, the rest of his game was limited. Littles wasn’t going to dominate in the post on offense or blocking shots. He could flat out rebound. We need a threat down low to go with our perimeter shooters.

Maybe…Littles was a beast on the boards, the rest of his game was limited. Littles wasn’t going to dominate in the post on offense or blocking shots. He could flat out rebound. We need a threat down low to go with our perimeter shooters. I noticed he landed at Nicholls instead of South Alabama. He didn't start for them last night. So, that's interesting. Mervin James is at Rider and did start for them last night. He had a decent game based on the stats. On the women's side, Jaila Roberts isn't a starter at ETSU (yet) but Jaida Bond did start for UNF last night. The Bond sisters on one team will be interesting to watch unfold this season. Ole Saucy Agnew came off the bench at UTEP last season but started for them last night. I wish all these players the best. A lot goes into making a transfer but you have to wonder if the grass is greener for the student-athletes or if they would have been better served staying in Florence. Our teams would definitely be better if all of that experience was playing for the Lions this season.

I was hopeful those awful purple and BLACK uniforms were going to be scrapped this year, but apparently not.
Oh well. If we win this game, I’ll forgive them.

Whew! 30-11. We’re not getting many shots and the ones we are getting aren’t successful most of the time. Just going to be one of those games. Keep playing.

Wow! Lions end the half on a 15-2 run! The Bulldogs’ 24 point lead down to 11! Dailed up the D and fouled their big guy. He went 2-8 from the line.

It's back to 15 in the middle of the 2nd Half. But, dang, to fight back from 24 down to just 7 is something to build on. Their announcers have been touting all night of how MSU has benefitted from the transfer portal. I'm just glad there are some positives to build on from this game. I like the new additions to our returning players.

They just said that in the last 20 minutes of play the two teams have played even. The Bulldogs jumped out to that big lead but UNA has cut it and then held pace. It's currently a 12 point lead by the Bulldogs.

Right now our best players are Community College transfers. With the transfer portal being a negative for programs like UNA, I hope we can lean on CC transfers to make up the difference. Maybe NW-Shoals will help in the future, too!

Hoping the offensive struggles tonight are because we’re playing Mississippi State game 1.

Hoping the offensive struggles tonight are because we’re playing Mississippi State game 1. I'm....well. No comment. Both have shot very poorly. But, I hate that it's now back to a 25-point lead for the Bulldogs.
