Speaking of FGCU in my other post, they want Skyler Gill. But, Kansas and Oregon also. She's taking her rounds of photos shoots! I would lose my shit if Skyler chose FGCU. That would be as bad as facing ShunDerrick Powell at Central Arkansas

That would be as bad as facing ShunDerrick Powell at Central Arkansas The ASUN (if not all conferences) really needs to restrict movement within the conference. Make them have to sit out a year if they try to go to another conference school. There is way too much potential for tampering and other underhanded activity happening if it continues to be allowed. I'm sure plenty of tampering and back-channel communication happens already.

And everything they are doing, is against the current rules. But, what can be done. The NCAA won't do anything about it.

It's despicable behavior, but it's where we are until someone has the guts to walk some of this stuff back.

I understand the argument about a player should be able to transfer just like a coach changes jobs... But honestly, there should be some restrictions in place. Like, you can only transfer 1 time for being unhappy in current situation. You can transfer for family reasons (like you want to be closer to your immediate family) Your school no longer had what you are majoring in Your coach you wanted to play for as taken another job. If you are a graduate with more eligibility You should not be able to transfer because a higher level school recruits you or the NIL is better.

But, how do you manage that?

But, how do you manage that? I think THAT is why the NCAA just threw up their hands and let everyone transfer at will. They had begun to receive so many sit-out year waiver requests under the old system, and likely didn't have the time/desire to wade through every one to see who should qualify and who shouldn't. I'm all for players being able to go to school where they want to, but the fact is the old system (where they had to sit out a year) was NOT that restrictive. The NCAA should've just allowed kids to have one extra year of eligibility (one time only) if they wanted to transfer, but still make the player sit out a year to at least keep up the façade that they're getting their academics in order. I think you would've still seen an increase in transfers, but not to the degree we have now.

I'm glad that our best players transferring out have finally landed on teams going to the big dance.
Skyler Gill landed at Kansas and has come off the bench for them all season. The Jayhawks lost in the Big 12 tournament to eventual champ Texas. They are an 8-seed facing Michigan.
Daniel Ortiz has come off the bench for UAB all season but got his first start yesterday after a good game vs. Wichita State in the AAC Tournament. They took down USF in the semis. USF, you may recall, hired KSU's coach from last year and he took 3 of the best Owls players with him along with Placer from UNF. Ortiz and his Blazers beat them and then won the AAC tournament against Temple today.

Sigh. The portal opens tomorrow. Who will go and who will come? We need another Tim Smith Jr or two from D2. How many on the women’s team will enter the portal?
