At what point can we all agree that this new pitching coach is destroying our pitchers? I know I have seen more than one pitcher who ended last season doing well and has continued to get worse every game this season. Best is not the first to strain his arm under this guy this year! That is all about conditioning and trying to change your pitchers arm slots or delivery methods abruptly. This is horrible and inexcusable! No excuse that Keene has allowed this and hired this guy to start with. This game for one just proves that it's not so much that the D1 teams are so much better than our guys, this is all totally our pitching team falling apart at the seams and our batters can't bail us out when we fall this far behind. Stetson out pitched us, hands down! Yes, we obviously MUST hit better, but it doesn't matter how many hits you have if you can't stop their batters! We can't blame this all on one injury either. One guy can't win the game. I know that was an unexpected adjustment, but you won't convince me that we shouldn't have been able to fall back on the rest of our team. Where is the development and improvement that we should see in our players as the season moves froward? I never expected us not to struggle with the transition to D1, but did anyone expect us to continue to take one step after another backwards? We have absolutely no pitchers that could go the distance. Our guys are not conditioned to go over 5 innings max, although most don't even make it that far, and tonight we moved through our bullpen at a rapid pace in game one. Supposedly this pitching coach is a "situational coach". What exactly was your plan for this particular situation, coach? Stetson went through one, ONE pitcher this game! They will basically be starting fresh tomorrow. We, on the other hand, will salvage what we have left. What will it take to stop the madness??? So frustrating. Long, depressing season ahead.
